Regis is ao annoying how he dominates the interview...makes himself look like a fool. Maynard doesnt even take Regis serious after many attempts to talk and teach how to play. So Maynard is sorta mocking Regis throughout but Regis has no idea. What an idiot Regis is. Maynard, you were a true gentleman putting up with Knucklehead Regis and airhead Kathie...wow, you couldn't pay me to put up with such nonsense.

Hilarious how Maynard gives no info about embouchure or buzzing lips. Regis just does what anyone would do and blow as though blowing a balloon . How you position lips on trumpet mouthpiece is so important.

Hm. Maynard had a pretty good ear to jump right into it with Regis without knowing the key. Also, unless I'm mistaken, he chose to play that snippet of Gonna Fly Now in concert C instead of E.

I never noticed how Maynard plays with the mp a little off to the side of his lips. Hmmmm...... I've seen everything from Birdland to MacArthur Park to Don't let the sun go down on me and still never noticed it. But regardless Maynard is a very joyous person to be with and one of the greatest trumpet players in the world.

@hollow5150 from personal expierence as a trumpet player, i noticed its not a good way to play if you watnt to be in the lower and middle range... but definatley an easier way to hit high notes :)
