If they would slim it down they would have to get cheaper parts which will make it run worse. It's still the future of mobile phones so we will get something like this but slimer in a few years from now.

@SoldierTechnique The only reason its this big is because it is nvidias TESTING device. They included everything, it will be the same speed on any slimmer device (for example the zune HD. I know your comment was a year ago but ill just point it out.

i think this version is the bigger tegra aimed for mids, they have a smaller one for smartphones. It could output 720p instead of 1080p. for example zunehd uses the small tegra. is that small enough for you? i think with tegra 2 coming next year, we will se 1080p output in the smaller version of tegra

Please Nvidia dudes, add a transaparent keyboard to the whole system, so we can run emulators (ie Amiga, Genesis,etc) and just tap some portion of the screen to control the characters.

That way we will not lose valuable screen space, like those stupid virtual keyboards usually do!

For all who are wondering -- this is NVidia's demo unit that they give to their customers (HTC, Microsoft, etc.) so they can design their own units. NVidia will not be releasing this devic; or any finished product -- they just sell chips.

More MP means bigger the size of the image, it's not the resolution. You can get 12mp and its flat out ugly or 5mp could get you real pretty pictures.

I wish this would be smart phone, it would beat the shit out of Iphone, hands down.

as you noticed, nvidia product are always priced high. brand new graphic card cost $600 or the new 3D glasses cost about $200 so most likely this will be near

$1,000. and prob.. no service plan for cheaper price. just like gigabyte + asus phones.

The cheapest is $200, for the Tegra 600 series. This is the APX (phone) and I'm not sure how much these will costs, but the cheapest will definitly be more than $200.

Not nescesarily, the chip can process pictures of up to 12MP, that means it can handle a 12MP sensor, it doesn't have to though.

And Tegra 650 isn't for Smartphones, it's for MIDs.

The Tegra 650 will be able to handle videos of up to 1080p though. :D
