I'd say rainbow was, as much as many people think DOOM is the most inspirational for me it wasn't, Maze wars was. I loved that game. Im studying computer games and visual effects at uni and for me the new fps have lost the point of using it as a narrative code. Bioshock is the only one and call of duty 4 i guess are for me the best stories that don't just want to over play and milk the idea of using the audience to fight in a hyperbolic war just for the sake of it. sadistic.

@sLAUGHTER115 im just saying the first FPS... ive played more than 100 fps game.... doom is awesome, maze wars is awesome those old games.. for me the best FPS game that have been in the history of the FPS games since came out is counter strike everybody plays counter or have play counter strike i think thats 1 of the most played FPS games... now is just bunch of diplomatic wars and stuff... the graphics dont make a game the fun make it.. i can tell that for minecraft, good luck at the uni..

this game has great enviroments and i love the gameplay and i open to all sorts of game modes and i stress i am not a cod fanboy, but no game seems to be able to get the movement right, even though cod has many flaws MANY FLAWS, they got the movement spot on
