  • can i play this game in ultra settings with intel core i3 550 3.2ghz nvidia geforce gtx 560 ti 4gb ram windows 7 64-bit ?

  • Did you overclock your CPU? I have the q9550 but it only runs at 2.8ghz.

  • @thebobisback

    Yes it is overclocked.

  • was there any lag to this game at all?????

  • nice bro you are very lucky

  • maybe u shud put it on ''faster'' ..

  • Hey..!!! Brow if you record thid video in Camtasia Studio, this will much better...

  • @xplodmax007

Why don't you people read the rest of the comments? This is a benchmarking/performance video.

  • you sir need an SSD to speed up that load time holy crap...

  • @askloglog

I have an SSD on my primary rig. No need for more expenses on the secondary one. Sorry.

  • @toutagamon i guess thats a fair enough answer lol... but why don't you play on your main rig?

  • @askloglog

This is a benchmark/gameplay video mate. I benchmark most games that are benchmark worthy on all my rigs for people to see and have an estimation of how games work on some hardware.

  • @toutagamon oooo got it... well thanks then for posting benchmark vids

  • I have a problem i buy a new pc with Phenom II*4 965 Black Edition Radeon HD 6670 4GB DDR3RAM with high settings I have wery low fps. With my older configuration Athlon *2 5600+ Radeon HD 4670 4GB DDR2 RAM. With high settings i have a smooth gameplay. Do you know any ides for this?

  • @Shazeen82 Try to update your graphics drivers, to update your sound card drivers and maybe your BIOS in extreme cases.

  • @Darkteammadfiz I disable my mainboard VGA, refresh BIOS and now works.

  • Nice computer

  • thats the chick from dr house, right?

  • Ultra seems to have too many flashy components in it.

  • Wow this is very good. Just for comparison I have a 550 ti and there is a noticable difference in frame rate. I will post a video if I can

  • @BOBIVI4RL3Y

    I love time travelers!

  • @toutagamon lol im just playing my comp cant even run call of duty 2 minimum graphics im just jelouse and want to sound cool :(

  • Running FRAPS also lower FPS. Next time you can even use CTRL-ALT-f to display FPS :D

  • @Darkteammadfiz

Fraps framerate counter only brings 1% of performance. Come on, this is nothing to botch the end result and in any case fraps was only used to gather framerate data here. The green counter, the one from MSI Afterburner brings even more performance, but we are talking 4% here. This is nothing also.

  • @toutagamon its not about the timer at your screen, its about fraps recording your screen to measure FPS, that slows down your pc

  • @iamgoingtokillyou3

The timer alone, also brings a miniscule performance hit. About 1% as I said.

  • @toutagamon I might be an horrible troll :P

  • your fps are between 30 and 60 thats verry nice im thinking in upgrade my computer and get an i5 and an i5 actually i have a crappy core 2 duo 2.7 gigs D: i know is shit and an ati hd 5770 1 gig ddr5 i want this card or the ati hd 5850 black editon what do you think? will be a nice upgrade?

  • @cockmaster2006

    A i2500k along with a 5850, would be a great upgrade!

  • @toutagamon yeah i know the only problem is that i cant find the 5850 anymore i will try to look for it in the web

  • Next time use fraps...

  • @Darkteammadfiz

    This a performance/benchmark video. Don't be silly.

  • @toutagamon Yea, next time when you won't be benchmarking...

  • @Darkteammadfiz Lol'd

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG i dunno why i am freaking out but....

  • What is it with all these benchmark videos being posted by guys with girls as their background? Don't you guys get enough pussy? I joke. Thanks for the upload.

  • @avocadoisdelicious

You mean there are others that are using chicks in their backgrounds? God damn them thieving bastards!

    You are welcome.

  • @toutagamon ah yeah it is probably just you, now i notice the name... awkward. nah, they are smooooking though.

  • ok, obviously your computer is very good. My computer takes at least a minute in the black screen to load the menu. Someone help me out, because idk if its my graphics card or cpu or something. All i know is that in a 3v3AI my computer lags behind (fios Internet, only me using it) i want to play this game like it deserves to be played. Some help would be very much appreciated. If i need to detail my specs more to people reply to this message or send me a message. THANKS!

  • @TheOnlyEliteSniper

You can try googling for "stracraft 2 techspot" where you can find a pretty interesting review regarding how cpus and gpu perform on this game.

If you need any more help, yes please quote your specs and we can discuss it further.

  • @toutagamon first off thnx a lot for the help. ok from what i figured this is what i run:windows XP Professional, Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz, 1024MB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series with AGP Processor (what i think is the issue), display is 1024x768, all setting in game are the lowest they can be, and yet i lag behind, even in 1v1 computer matches. In the back of my computer it says 12V 2.0A, so i'm guessing that may be the power supply. Any help is appreciated!

  • @toutagamon btw, i did check that out, was the first thing i saw in google looking for performance upgrades.

  • @TheOnlyEliteSniper

You need a new PC mate. Go for a 2500k for the cpu and a GTX 460 or ATI 6850 as your gpu. 4Gbs of ram and Windows 7. That should do it. :)

  • Oh you can also wait for AMD Bulldozers to come out next month and see if you can strike a better deal for the cpu.

  • @toutagamon if i just buy the graphics card that won't help? I don't have enough money for a new computer. I'm kinda stretching my wallet with a $200 graphics card

  • @TheOnlyEliteSniper

Sorry man, but no. A Pentium 4 is a very limited cpu for todays standards.

If you are lucky, your motherboard could support some of the Core 2 cpus, so you could add a quad core and a graphics card and be done with it.

Pay a visit to your mobo manufactrer's website and see what your specific mobo supports.

  • @toutagamon ffffffffffffffffffffffffuck, well thanks for your help, as i would have had an extreme blown face if i had already bought it. I'll see what i can do and tell you my plans. Again, thnx for your help

  • @thesharpshooter745 AMD and radeon are much more for the money compared to nvidia ;) Instead of getting the GTS 450, you should take a look at the radeon hd 6850. It's cheaper than the GTX 460 by 50$ or so, and is giving better performance in some games.

  • Hows the cooling on this card?

  • @Caboose56

Not so good compared to other 460s.

  • day[9] would be disappointed in you

  • @thesharpshooter745 it seems it was an older model the Radeon HD 5970 is equivalent GTX 460. make sure your mother board is compltiable with a Nvidia card. GTX 460 probably gone down in price now since the release of the GTX 560. I did a i7 build for a friends last week and he was 160fps on ultra setting but it probably no worth getting the 560 until you get faster processor.

  • @thesharpshooter745 i always been nvadia/intel man and not sure the standard on Radeon but I know that FPS is 90% to do with Graphic Card. I did a search and it seems the radeon 5670 is equivalent to a Geforce GTS 250 andif thats the case then you woud need to get a new card. This may also mean a new cpu so you dont bottle neck. You may need to do a little reseach to get value for money

  • @thesharpshooter745 cpu is fine its your gpu needs OC or upgrading

  • ctrl alt f for frams dont use fraps for SCII it slows it down

  • @1000milesinmyshoes Thats only if hes recording with fraps, not benchmarking

  • @Zutu51 it does slow it down, just not much. The only reason to use fraps is so that people can see the numbers easier

  • @Zutu51 no, the native fps is more accurate in real time. That is why he should use it

  • I paused the video right at the beginning, then for some reason I didn't feel like watching the rest anymore. Who's that girl?

  • @Necrotau

I don't remember mate but you will surely find her in one of my wallpaper packs. Try searching in my channel for "wallpaper pack"

  • I facepalmed when i saw this video. The guy knows how to overclock his stuff but dosn't know how to use fraps.

  • @mojen93

Yes, I facepalm when I read comments like that as well. This is a PERFORMANCE video. You don't use fraps recording when benchmarking stuff. How difficult is that to understand? Come on people!

  • @mojen93 Damn dude you really did make an ass of yourself

  • omg starcraft 2 looks boring :D

  • I have this card but it is jumpy on all low, i dont get it one bit

  • pirate version...

  • Id got avg 60fps at same settings including extreme option with a gtx 460 850mhz on a 2600k msi p67c45

  • @ZaxL89

Yes, the i7s are much better at this game. I tested my own i7 back then along with this system and it showed considerable improvement.

  • i'm sure. he is masturbating while stc2 is loading..

  • This makes me truly hate port games. This is what we could have if they made for PC first, then dumbed down for console users. Its called optimization and it goes a LOOOOONG way.

  • Man did you think about closing all programs and applications and processes in the background??? Did you think of cleaning your comp with TuneUp or CCleaner???? That would give you a huge boost.

  • @OpenGLSecond

I've been around PCs for 20 years mate. I know what I must do to keep it running smoothly. ;)

Secondary applications are given minimum resources when D3D launches.

  • @toutagamon OK then do you know how to run thsi game in OpenGL 'cause Intel and Nvidia cards run much better in OpenGL, and OpenGL itself is much faster and better than DX, even on ATI cards...

  • @OpenGLSecond

In order to run a game in OpenGL it must be supported from the game and afaik there is no such option for SC2.

  • @toutagamon Yes there is. How do then Mac users play SC2??? How can then Linux gamers play SC2 juuuuuuuuuuuuust fiiiiiiineeeeeeee???

  • @OpenGLSecond

These are different OSes man. Having OGL in a non Windows OS, does not necessary mean that this option will be available in Windows too. In any case, send an email to Blizzard and ask.

  • @toutagamon kk, thnx anyway for help

  • @toutagamon btw new graphics ptions(extreme graphics) came out with 1.2 patch. Could you plis upload a vid of it on your card???

  • @OpenGLSecond

This is on the to do list. The 460 is now on an X3 720 machine though.

  • hey guys

turn vsync on is same result edit variables document?

  • Did it drops fps during cenimatics? i got 2 gtx 460 sli (both runing at 850/1700/2000

but i drop fps whene in cenimatics (i get like 15 to 25 fps)

  • jeasus your bottlenecking like shit your running a gtx 460 with a core 2 quad, christ even a i5 would bottleneck with a 460 dude upgrade seriously...

  • @MattieKirby1 No he's not. I run 2 GTX 460s in sli, with a Q9650 OC to 3.3 Ghz. I rarely see 2 of the cores reaching 80% load.

  • @Gamevet Iv got a Phennom 2 x6 t1055 and even though I do a tone of gaming and video editing, the 6 cores never reach over 40%

  • @MattieKirby1 Yeah, but that does not mean his CPU is a bottleneck with 1 GTX 460. Like I said, I run 2 cards with the slightly better Q9650 and a lower clock-rate then he is. I've never pushed my CPU to 100%, even with Heaven 2.5 at max Tensellation and settings. Yeah, (2) GTX 460s might bottleneck with a dual-core processor, but it's not going to happen with a decent Quad-Core.

  • there is extreeme resolution (better then ultra) and second turn on vertical sync and reduce mouse lag when testing

  • @vradovic

I see no extreme selectable setting anywhere.

As for the vsync, this is supposed to be a performance video. Vsync caps the framerate so what good would that do?

  • @toutagamon The extreme mode was added only recently outside of PTR less than a week ago, and only affects ingame custscenes and shaders in Single Player.

2nd capping frame rate is a good idea as it keeps your 3d card from processing more than it actually needs to when keeping a staple 60fps. I wouldnt necessary turn on vsync. You can go into your Starcraft 2 folder thats in My documents and add a few lines to the variables document.

    frameratecap=60

    framerateglue=60

  • @esjihn

This in-turn caps your fps to 60 on in game menus and in game itself. So you get a nice crisp play w/o making your 3d card work harder than it has to which for some higher end rigs means... MORE HOURS OF SC2! :D

  • @toutagamon

You have to update to patch 1.2. And there is new option 'extremee' + vsycs is must.

also press alt + ctrl + f to see nativ sc2 fps

  • how does the 460gtx stand in large 4v4 battles? and is ur cpu using the gpu at max? thanks in advance

  • @Zeromat

I am not a multitplayer fan mate, but from what you can see at the end of this video, the gpu was not fully used, even in this single player gameplay, so it would be even worse in multiplayer.

  • Did you overclock your video card? or is it stock?

im planning to get a gtx 460 1gb but now that frame rates drop to 20-30 during gameplay on starcraft, i might get a 6950 and flash to 6970.

  • @Bballstar024

Yes it was overclocked, as in all my tests (gpuz in this video provides this information btw) but it was meaningless anyway. As you can see at the end of this video, the gpu usage was not at its max and that indicates cpu limits.

Starcraft is largely a cpu limited game.

  • @toutagamon wait ur saying its ur cpu that is bottle necking or are u saying that this game depends heavily on cpu?

  • Nice vid, but i think you proof much better in the mission "In Utter Darkness" for see the real performance for this video card.

  • Dude just a friendly tip,get fraps

  • @MrRoboman333

Dude just a friendly tip as well. Try figuring out when someone posts a gameplay video or a FREAGIN BENCHMARK!

  • @toutagamon it was a joke comment

  • @MrRoboman333 fraps lowers FPS, thus hurting the benchmark stats.

  • is this playable on Ultra Q6700, GTX 460

  • @TehImperialZ

    Of course.

  • @toutagamon at CPU stock speeds?

  • @TehImperialZ

You will be looking at around 30fps, which is playable for an RTS. Now if you want more, you may want to start thinking about overclocking or upgrade options.

  • @toutagamon

In any case, there's a demo out now, give it a try and see how it fairs.

  • @toutagamon

...and I am referring to high settings, not ultra.

  • btw which software is used for showing D3D mode ?

  • @PaRan0iiid

    Great stuff.

In some levels though, where the action gets more intense, the game tends to slow down a bit, but it's still pretty playable.

  • I just played the Demo with my setup:

    CPU: QX9650@3750MHz

GPU: MSI Hawk Talon Attack 910/4500

    RAM: 4x2GB Kingston HyperX

    MB: Asus Striker II Extreme

All detail Ultra 1920x1080 and fps was for the 99% of play time at 60..

everything absolutely smooth no fps drops or st like that

  • GTX460 in some campaign fps was drop to 30-40, is it normal?

  • @cultofparcraft

    yes.

  • @toutagamon thanks guy, i will try oc my i5 760 to 4.5 ghz and i will tell later xD, if i can.

  • Should i get the 5850 card or the GTX 460?

  • Lol jealous <--- Plays Starcraft 2 at lowest settings with 20 fps xD on my laptop.

  • My friend has GTX460 768mb, but why he can run sc2 at texture ultra setting?

  • Yeah my system is an i7-975, ATI 5970 (dual GPU), and 12 GB of dominator GT mem, @ 1600 MHz currently (really need to get my liquid cooling in, stock cooling on the CPU sucks). Anyways, any game or map just idleing above I can hit maybe 175FPS maxed out at 1920 x 1080. when the action hits hard it'll drop to maybe 25 FPS at worst. Average 45 or more easy. I still think heat matters are making my system operate slower than what it should though

  • @peebow1000

please replay to any of my comments when you get the cooling system - tell me if you have any imrovments

  • THIS IS NT TRUE - i have MSI 1GB GTX 460 Hawk Talon Attack @811 stock core clock,I have OC the card with msi afterburner and stres test it with msi kombustor with these clocks:

    Core voltage +100mV (max)

    Memory Voltage +100mV (max)

    Aux Voltage (mV) +30 (max)

    Core Clock (MHz) 930

    Shader Clock (MHz) 1860

    Memory Clock (MHz) 2065

Fan Sped (%) 100 (max) i started SCII against very easy AI - trust me the FPS drops down even bellow 20 :S - This is one pretty demanding game at ultra settings.

  • @lordmassk007

The framerate drops due to the CPU, not the GPU. I had frame drops on my i7, but overall the game was fine.

  • @toutagamon

i bet you are wrong :) - the problem with this card is that it have pretty low shadir core clock - and you cant unlock to achive further more in fermi gpus like the hawk.

Try to run SCII (single player just against easy AI) and reach 200 limit - than stack your units and watch fraps - everything is fine until u cast some ability i.e. Vortex from the motherboard (protos) - you will get fps down to 0 -you will have to use recomended settings on shadow and something else cant remembe

  • @toutagamon Monitor your cpu and your gpu at the same time you will notice that the reason is the GPU (actually the shaders on the graphic card)

  • love the background

  • I just got the 460 gtx 758 mb version, how much better is the 1GB version...? It was only 130$ i think price wise it was worth it, but i hope i can ultra all the setting in sc2...and i also hope it will be good for diablo 3

  • @Daren2007

The 1GB is about 10% faster. No big deal. I believe you will be fine with DIII as well!

  • @toutagamon thxs for the reply....i hope i could play d3 without lag...

  • @Daren2007 My laptop with an core i7 and radeon mobility hd 5730 1gb can handle starcraft two on ultra settings having an average fps of 35. This card will have no problem running starcraft 2 on ultra settings. Also I just bought two EVGA 460 to run in sli and I would advise you to pick up another card when you get the chance considering the enormous performance gains, it can beat a GTX 480 in many instances.

  • @xxslayer66xx my processor is not good tho, i just made a budget build, my processor is x3 445 3.1ghz, as long as i can play diablo 3 i should be good, if i can't i will buy another card and upgrade cpu...there is still like around 9 months before diablo comes out...and if i buy another card i need new cpu, powersupply and maybe new board too, i bought the msi 870 g45 i think it only supports cross fire...

  • @Daren2007 Trust me blizzard Actually makes pc games that are not specifically for a console which means they spend alot of time making sure there games run well on a pc Im sure you will have no problems running Diablo 3 with your current setup. and if I can play starcraft on ultra with a mobility cpu and graphics card I dont think your CPU will bottleneck your graphics card.

  • @xxslayer66xx I hope ur right, after i get all my stuff i still need to try to unlock the x3 to quad and overclock it...but i heard diablo 3 might just use 2 core...like stacraft 2...

  • @Daren2007 you should not go to ultra texture quality if you dont own 1GB card

  • @lordmassk007 k if it lags i will definitely just set it to high and lower the resolution...

  • what kind of cooling do you use i have the same cpu but it BSOD on me if i try to go above 3.5 GHz but I think it might just be my main board using the cooler master sphere cpu cooler max 67c room temp 26c case El Diablo MSI P35 Platinum Combo

  • @1800Supreme

I have Thermalright Ultra 120 but I don't think it's only the cooler than does the work here. My mobo is an Asus P5Q Deluxe with 16phase CPU VRM. What kind of VRM does your mobo have?

  • whta kind of PSU or how much this card can consume

  • what voltage?

  • @tommy714pham

    1.087 I think.

  • Should I buy the Msi Radeon Hd 6850 which cost $230 or the Inno3d 460 gtx which cost $211.Btw these are the only 2 cards i can buy locally so the prices are fixed and i cant buy anything else.I also can't buy online. So which is a better buy?

  • @Lubotsulat

They are both good cards and pretty much equal. You will have a good time with any one.

  • @toutagamon That's what she said! :3 Nice gameplay, keep up the good work.

  • you have poor taste in women, friend. I've taken shits prettier than her

  • @super133t That's such a useful comment for this video, I want to see more of that. Thanks! NOT

  • I want that wallpaper

  • Thanks for all the great videos. They've been really helpful to me deciding which GPU to buy as I have a similair system to you in other respects. I'm going with the MSI hawk version of this card.

  • @TheMorotgubben the 6*** cards will be out 22th october and then it will be the 6850/6870 and those will be replacing 5750/5770.. and in november 6950/6970 will be out that are replacing 5850/5870 and december we will ger 6990 that will be replacing 5970..

they have changed the names on the cards so it's going to be kinda fucked.. and you shuld wait untill the first 68** cards are out since they will have about the same price as gtx460 and then the price on gtx460 will go down a bit

  • the p5q deluxe was such an understated mb. i loved that thing. overclocked like a charm, perfect price point for the feature set, you could do whatever you wanted to it. i had the q9400 and it oc'd well too. now all this ghastly i-series stuff...sigh..what a money grab

  • try playing 4v4 league

  • I bet the OP doesn't even know that this game runs at the same exact frame-rate when clocked at 3.4Ghz. There is no need to jack up the clock to 4Ghz when playing at 1080p.

  • @maiky3838

If you take a good look at the end of the video, you will see that the GPU usage was not 100%. That means one thing. CPU limits. At lower frequency, it would be even worse.

Contrary to that, you can watch my i7+5850 video (should be on the right-suggestions) and see how the 5850 gets a healthy 100% GPU usage, thanks to the faster cpu.

To top it off, you should read Techspot's Starcraft II CPU and GPU review.

  • I'm getting this. hopefully the price will be a bit lower this october.

  • I have an AMD Phenom II X3 3.0ghz with a sapphire radeon hd4870

im about to uppgrade to a GTX 460 or a Radeon HD5770

but ATI is coop with AMD so should i get the radeon for best performance or the GTX witch one is better?

  • @WhatCrowbar

Wait until the Radeon 6000 series hits the market and then decide. This should be around next month.

  • @toutagamon yea i wonder to, I'm going to buy a new computer and wonder if i should buy the gtx 460 1gb or wait until the radeon 6000 series come out? i have heard that it will come soon about when chritsmas is.

  • @TheMorotgubben

The 460 1GB is a good card. No doubt about it.

Still, some new Radeons will arrive at the end of this month. I'd wait until then. No need to harry.

  • @toutagamon ok thanks really much :D i maybe ask more questions sometime (im subscribe)

  • @toutagamon but are the new radeon cards not going to be around 500-600 bucks or so? this card goes now for around 160 on amazon. Pretty good for a budget pc? hehe :P

  • @iggy1008

The Radeon 6000 series has launched mate, in the form of the 6850 and the 6870 and they are very fairly priced.

There are some other cards expected next month and in December, namely the 6950, 6970 and the dual chip 6990. Prices are still unknown.

  • @toutagamon i did order the computer whit gtx 460 1gb card :D the radeon 6800 dident see so good and i got the computer for a good price :D around 1000 euro

  • @TheMorotgubben

Good choice mate. Have fun with it! ;)

  • @toutagamon thanks!!! im really happy im getting it in about 1 week :D:D

  • @Thecashflowman

    cpuz and gpuz

  • What kind of temperatures are you getting on your card? Mine is 63C running something like firefox and then ultra setting on Starcraft 2 it goes up to about 80C. Thats seems a bit too hot? Im not sure.

  • @TeQuiiLaSHoTZz Think of it this way. 40C is around 92F. So... your call.

  • what a bad video !! Pc is good but the video !!

    HOLY SHIT !!

  • what fraps are you using for recording video? when i record video may framerates drop by half

  • @xSephirothGx

I use the latest FRAPs for my gameplay videos, but this was a performance video, intended to show pure performance, without the performance hit imposed by FRAPS, so I used my camera.

  • What are the specs of your monitor? I want a 1920x1080 or a 1920x1200 resolution. My debate is the resolution/contrast dilema. What you suggest?

  • @Jasepo

I have a 32'' FullHDTV which I use as a monitor. Being a full HDTV, it has a native res of 1920X1080. I wanted a big screen to enjoy my games and this is what was on offer for HDTV. Not a problem though.

The good part is that all 1280X720 or 1920X1080 videos, play at full screen with no borders. I like that. Other than that, there are insignificant differences with 1920X1200 resolution, in terms of visual quality.

  • does it lag when there are 400 units on the map?

  • change your cpu and get a sli setup if your motherboard or u can afford it

  • @deathsoap

I already got a Core i7 + two 5850s on my primary rig. This is my secondary. The
