Awesome tune, clealy played, guitar tone is nice overall, not as much distortion as I'm used to but it fits the cover nicely. I can only imagine how awesome this would be in a live setting, where it's got a lot of melodeath/Maiden dual lead harmonies.

Not bad at all. You need to get a little smoother. Let the chords ring a little longer, and don't pick every note. For the main riff, you should play a little more legato for the sake of clarity. The lead stuff isn't bad at all, but you need to play with more power and conviction. Try to feel the music and play key notes harder, others softer. Vary it. Make the guitar sing. Your technique is coming along fine, but think about variation and expression. Good work so far.

I have been playing guitar for 3-4 years. Search for "paul gilbert alternate picking" and the first video should have a pretty good exercise for you. It has helped me quite a bit. Also you should try to play songs that use different techniques like string skipping, legato, sweeps, and such.
