  • So... you built a trap to catch yourself. NICE! ^.^

  • @knighthawkinlight man love all ur trap vids btw do you freakwently hunt or is this just a hobby, bn 14 and livin in a city I don't get to hunt as often as Ide like but I love hunting

  • I'm a scout and they just don't teach us this stuf anymore : / hmmm I wonder y lolz

  • leave this guy in the wild with some string and a knife and he'll have enough pig or vermin meat to feed all of India

  • you should make a combo of this and the swinging log trap with spikes on them so they when the animal is pulled up it triggers a mid air trip wire and the two spiked logs impale it from either side

  • Did u like use to be in the scouts?

  • 'catch ya next time' lol no pun intended?

  • Okay, i'm gonna use that kind of thing in airsoft :)

  • Hey this is a great video and is that a buck knife if so i have the exact same one

  • Do you need more counterweight for larger animals? (like a deer)

  • @420MrGrow Yes

  • @420MrGrow 3x weight of target animal. Bent over saplings work better because they are fixed to the ground and will hold even a deer in place with strong enough cordage.

  • how much heavy should be a counter weight

  • Nice videos dude , it cool to see how ingeniously those things are made, but just a question, do you use gloves sometime? Because it dangerous using a knife like that without gloves.

But that just my opinion, your vids are awesome.

  • @mmbn6fan No I do not use gloves. I've had a knife since I was 5 or 6. I'm pretty good at not cutting myself by now.

  • @Nighthawkinlight Ok, I was curious ^^.

  • @Nighthawkinlight sad emo kids these days.....

  • @Nighthawkinlight :o wow win at life

  • @mmbn6fan It is a lot more dangerous to use a knife with gloves on than without. Especially if there are people around you.

  • @kwt890 hahaha me to!!

  • what kind of knot is that at 3:08 ??

  • i would never let you barrow my knife bro

    PS: excuse my english

  • Frick you people need to talk I don't know what's going on sleeping provides info

  • i used to be a trapper like you, but i took an arrow in the knee...

  • you a mute bro?? It wouldve helped if you talk a bit..

  • thanx will help me in capture of food wile campin

  • The hunger games brought me here...

  • @kwt890 same

  • you do know you can talk right

  • @quackattackrules some people cant talk

  • dam dude your smart, ill be sure to watch and take notes from ur videos when i go out to hunt

  • I prefer when you talk, but thanks.

  • What knife do you use in your videos

  • @JayByrd319 Buck Diamondback. I need to start charging them for all these recommendations.

  • @Nighthawkinlight Alright thanks Im gonna go buy it at a gun shiow today

  • check out my tripwire trap its really simple and effective

  • pryti nice

  • I got that same exact knife, the steel is excellent. However I re profiled it and it ridiculously sharp now. I got rid of that convex bullshit and its a gradual incline. Now when I cut with it I feel no resistance it almost slips through what it is cutting. Just perfect, and already shaved with it.,

  • dude, I hope you catch something soon. I can hear your stomach rumbling

  • Comment removed

  • What kind of knot is the one that catches the animal and also the one attached to the release. Thanks

  • @WprEmiere1985 The one that catches the animal is a bowline with the line pulled through to make a loose running noose. The knot on the release is a simple slipknot.

  • @Nighthawkinlight Thank you very much. Great Video by the way.

  • @WprEmiere1985 I'm also get assembling an EDC and was wondering if a Swiss Army Knife would do me any good.

  • @Nighthawkinlight what with fences on the background?

  • cool, thanks but i only wanted to catch not kill/hurt the animal but hey you have other videos ill check out also you should, like everyone else said, talk while setting up the trap. if your not cool with talking when your setting up then record yourself and put a voice over after, but that will require more effort and time.

  • I love u man, i learned all the basics of trap making from your videos. Thanks a lot.

  • All I can think about is the simpsons episode where homer builds the rabbit snare and instead of snaring the rabbit it just catapults it over the mountain.

  • I typed that in too soon. He can, in fact, talk.

  • Can the guy talk?

  • @Nighthawkinlight

i am srry. i did not know you get paid. so, if i did what you did i would love it. srry.

  • Hi. anoyinghaga22312 here. i am srry about that earlier comment. i did not know your age, so technikly i cant tell you to get a life. srry . like your vids though. i have a qeustion though. were you in the miliitary?

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 No, I have never been in the military.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

    WOW YOU ANSWER QWIKLY

but where did you learn your skills

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 I thought up most of my traps myself.

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 The military does train you on survival skills depending on what you are

  • I love your videos

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 What a little bitch.

  • Nicely done...

  • awesome video thank you

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 so you watched all his videos on how to build traps... your obviously interested in this to, so your just the same as him I wouldn't be insulting people if I was you. hypocrite. seriously don't be a bitch about it.

  • i love these video's!

I've been just youtubing for ages watching random things and came across survival videos. They're frustrating though because they don't teach you properly how to set the traps. you make it all really simple to understand. thanks heaps!

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 faggot kid

  • whats the biggest thing you ever caught with that snare?

  • i think im in love with that knife

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 its called hobbies you dumb peice of shit your probeley some teenage nerd who lives in thier parents basement and playes cod all day

  • @Nighthawkinlight that's good that you told him off because this is an educational video who is he to leave a bad remark on it. by the way i learnt something from that

  • can you make the stone drop on the animal? that would be way more effective

  • @KoenStraten it would probably hurt it but not kill it well.. if the rock was like a boulder then its a diff story

  • @mbc14k a rock with nails pointing everyside. like a hairy testicle but the hairs are from steel

  • What knife is that??Please reply

  • @lazyboy1410 Buck Diamondback

  • Comment removed

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 what are your vids about? doing the worm and other stupid useless crap. grow some hair on your genitals before u insult ppl losers.

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 your a prick who are you to say what he can and cant do

  • @AnoyingHaga22312 your a prick

  • gay and low powerd

  • What knife is used in this video... just wondering. Great video, thanks.

  • cool vids man, thanks for sharing

  • nice video .love it im going to try it......

  • thank you for the info i appreciate it

  • would this capture a fox? beacuse ive lost 5 chickens to a fox and i need to snare it with a good trap

  • @deathmetalmofos For a fox you should get a big cage trap from a hardware or farm supply store. Someone may rent them in your area if you don't want to buy one. If you catch one in a trap like this or one of my other traps it likely won't kill it and you will then need to deal with a very angry animal with only one foot on a line. If you have chickens you should invest in a good cage trap anyway, because this is not the last time a predator issue will happen to you.

  • I can't watch, this video gives me Vietnam flashbacks... only in Nom instead of just dangling from a tree, you explode! Poor, poor ssgt. Tommlin.

  • ads have ruined youtube

  • totally unable to escape ! made my day haha.

  • I want to see you catch an animal in one of these.

  • lol at the end all your hard work to trap yourself LOL :D

  • Great idea, using the rock. That's another variation I can try. Thank you!

  • Lol catch ya next time

  • i did this to my friend e was pissed

  • in the army we use these traps on ppl

  • Sorry for the double post but have you ever came across any indian artifacts out where u live?

  • @ConvinceTheWorld Not that I can remember.

  • @ConvinceTheWorld My cousins grandparents live in south alabama and on their 1400 acres there is a swamp with sacred burial indian mounds

  • @ConvinceTheWorld not to but in but my cousin's grandparents own 1400 acres in south alabama where there is a swamp and in the middle of it is a bunch of sacred burial mounds

  • @Nighthawkinlight nice im from Wisconsin ^^

  • Haha...."catchya next time"

  • some one went to boy scouts

  • providing im in a survival situation and i do manage to catch something with this trap, How would i kill the animal? Baton to the head i suppos?

Whats the most humain Wait in your opinion?

  • @jolderon2 This is not a great survival trap because it takes too much rope. I have other videos with better traps for survival.

The best way to kill a large animal without proper tools is a rock to the head. For a small animal like a rabbit the best way is to grab it by the hind legs so it's upside down and give it a hard and fast karate chop to the spine right below the skull. Squirrels will be able to swing around and bite you if they still have a lot of energy so be aware of that.

  • @Nighthawkinlight check my vid, watch?v=sONvQVDe9_4 i made a snare with about 4 feet of twine

  • hello i'd just like to ask u a question.if i put a fish line in between with a tension tree trap will it work?and where do u connect the fishing pole between stick and what else?thx

  • @942doc1 I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • how do i watch in hq lol

  • @whatuwantmom That was a feature of YouTube a year or two ago.

  • Thank you for taking the time out to make this. It helps more than you will ever know. Very smart very clever. If anybody doesnt understand it, watch again till comprehension! BTW WHICH STATE DO U LIVE IN? MIDWEST?

  • @ConvinceTheWorld Michigan

  • cool 1 more thing i know how to do!

  • 20 people got trapped by a rope snare

  • you suck at life

  • @connorvip2 every time you troll this video he makes more money. he gains money from your views, and you loose money by wasting your internet minutes. (no offense, Nighthawkinlight).

  • @Altajava2 i never seen this vid in my life....ididnt write what i said b4.

  • @connorvip2 okay, that makes it all better *yeah, right*

  • can you explain how to set up the string at 4:30-4:40 ? I just need some clarification! thanks, and great video! :D

  • @screamforseptember I'm really not sure how to explain in words any better than the video shows. You may have to just watch it a few more times carefully.

  • THATll teach those damn squirrels to play with MY nuts!

  • THX i used this trap on camping and i caught a huge rabbit it was a good diner

  • such a help ty

  • @Nighthawkinlight

I am curious what would be some good places to find plants/animals/food survival type book for Missouri? Anyone you might recommend as knowing their stuff?

Also on these snares have you ever had prey chew through the line?

  • @Twisted86 I really haven't read very many survival books, at last none I can remember. If you look up north American survival books on Google I'm sure you'll find plenty of results.

I don't do very much trapping for myself. I mostly make my traps for demonstration. When I have trapped animals it has mostly been to protect birds I've raised. I have had some cases of them getting free, but that will be the result of any improvised trap or snare that does not kill the animal instantly.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

I see well appreciate your assistance. I myself am a novice but plan to practice on the rabbits in our field and of course I eat what I will catch. Gives me something to keep me busy till hunting season starts up.

Thank you for your time. Also I forgot to ask how long does those Buck Diamondback last and how good are they? Was thinking of adding a few to our survival packs.

  • @Twisted86 Mine's still going strong. The rubber on the top thumb grip is a little thin and wears through eventually, but I don't foresee any real integral damage in the near future. I've had mine for about 3 years. When it eventually fails I'll buy another.

  • @Twisted86 Missouri books i dont kno about. but if you search ginko adventures online they have the best survival class's and trips. The guide ambre knows everything from wat to eat from preventing hypotherma.

and the best thing you can eat wild is persimmons in missouri.

  • @Twisted86 You might be able to find some cool survival books at a local gun show, ebay has a lot of books you might get lucky and find a missouri one there, or amazon.

  • It's OK to talk a LITTLE in videos... No one's gonna hate you for that as long as you don't blabber.

  • thers nothing resraining the anelmal, it could just run off draging the stone

  • very smart will try good instrucing too

  • My brother's tree house is always destroyed by the neighbours kids. Now I atleast know how to catch them hehe...

  • the kids down the road always destroys my little brothers tree house, now I know how to deal with them...hehe

  • Could dis catch rabbits?

  • always wanted to no how to make these. i'll give it a shot

  • what knife are you using in this vid?

  • @jolderon2 A Buck Diamondback I believe it's called. I could not recommend it more.

  • Nice snare set up. So, if you set up a snare and bait it with a copy of "98 derees, the art of keeping your ass live" and a ink pen. Would you catch a barefoot hippy?

  • @pigwigpa Yes, but you would not believe what the vet charges for neutering. The all organic fruit and grains required for good hippie growth are rather expensive as well. You need to walk him every day, and really it's just not worth it.

  • Could you use a net instead?

  • I've used a similar method for taking hogs except instead of your trigger, I used the toggle release like in your spring tree noose trap and ran the trip wire from the trigger stick across the trail and the counter weight in this set up, also, I use a heavy duty spring as a anti-breaking device for the cord so it doesn't break, the spring takes all the sudden shock from a struggling pig.

  • really like the tree spring noose trap, and this one, could you make more trap videos, mayby to cath birds? and survival videos,?

  • @KarelProject Yes, I will be making more trap videos. I do not know when I will get around to it however.

  • @Nighthawkinlight Do you have any trap books, are did you made them up yourself?

  • "CATCH" YOU NEXT TIME!!! Brilliant, well played.

  • Thanks for sharing.. I don't think people realise how important it is to know how to make snares. If I had a better video camera, I would show two snares that I haven't seen on here (youtube) yet. But, yeah keep practicing.

  • how do u make sure u dont get any non target animals in there - say u build it with the intension for a rabbit and u catch a raccoon or skunk? or worse sumones small dog or cat ---- bait ? carrot /letttuce?

  • @HKLesterol There is no way to avoid trapping non target animals, which is why traps such as this are for survival situations only.

  • @Nighthawkinlight If you didn't have snare wire what would you use?

  • @HKLesterol Just put a sign in front of you snare... knock knock

  • @HKLesterol nobody cares mr.greenpeace dumbfuck

  • @outskool100 retard! i wasnt trying to be a smartass hippie u dum fuck i was seriously considering catching rabbits and only rabbits!! my back yard leads to a wooded area about 500 yards sqare the other side of that area is a public park - racoons and skunks are everywhere cuz there is no predators just leftovers garbage to flourish on- my gf has veg garden n rabbits get in it (fences dont work) and gun is out of question since my neighbnors ARE hippies and paranoid soccer moms-so fuck u!

  • @HKLesterol hmm? can you repeat that in english i dont understand

    hippie langauge

  • @HKLesterol Pellet or BB gun. It's easy there are houses all around my house (no fences or trees), and I no longer have squirrel or chipmunk problems. And I have to say those squirrel problems tasted pretty good.

  • @jerryboy219 i have an old BSA meteor but i didnt bring it to my house - its at my old house i grew up in ill have to go get it next time i visit & pick up pellets for it - but still my neighbors are nosy and they might come out and investigate if they hear the loud PAINK! of the BSA - ill prolly have to shoot from inside my kitchen out the sliding door or lay on my deck - now all i need is a ghillie suit that resembles a pine deck lol! - oh well its winter now- i got time to prepare

  • What is the best way to kill the game once it's trapped without getting bitten and without it having to suffer too much? Assuming you don't want to waste bullets or don't have a gun.

  • @DeimosSaturn well depending on what you cought, rabbits are easy, just snap its neck. squirls i like to pull on its head and tail and it paralises it so you can slit its throte with out it feeling it

  • Wow, we can't afford hammers these days.

  • i got a rock

  • did you hear that last comment. "catch---ya later"

the entire point of this vid was to show one how to catch something

Oh man im such a dushe

  • You should make the rope shorter so the animal is suspended higher in the air, because if a fox or wolf etc comes in the night it will take your catch.

  • can i use barb wire?

  • ima try it on sum bunnys next to my house.Theres like a infestation of these things around here................and ima kind of bored :P

  • awesome. taking back my veg garden from all those rabbits and making stew!

  • cool video thanks for sharing, would this work on a raccoon?

  • Comment removed

  • what kind of knife was that??

  • @AirsoftGhostSqaud A buck diamondback. It's a great all purpose outdoor knife. It's particularly good for cleaning game birds and large animals.

  • @Nighthawkinlight cool dude i love this trap it is really nice and y not seratted/fine cuz thats wut i have reply please

  • thank you very much great explenation

  • back in nam we used to use these to hunt cong.

  • nice nice

  • "catch ya next time" lol.

  • This video could be more informative if the guy would explain some of his techniques and not tie the knots he uses in the shadows of his hands. Does he not view the videos he produces?

  • @grossed83 I do watch them, and I read the comments too. Sorry you do not understand the knots. There are tons of knot tutorials here on YouTube. Any one in particular you don't understand?

  • Lol love how you only talk in "the next day".

  • good vid thx for posting with perfect name, helped my search.

  • This was the trap in the movie "I Am Legend" right?

  • @essayreader2009 More likely that trap was similar to the tree spring noose trap, which can be seen in the videos to the right of this comment.

  • @Nighthawkinlight That doesn't use a sapling though, it uses a car as a counterweight. Wouldn't this be more like the one in it?

  • @essayreader2009 The other trap can use a counterweight just as easily as a sapling.
