yeah i'm personally very anti-corporate and anti-junk food (i don't drink soda or anything with high fructose corn syrup) but this ad is very effective. and the song is very good. but the corporations are evil!
I'll say the unpopular observation: do you think it was some sort of subtle reminder to african rights Coke was using here to promote themselves? 'it should be law'...
Its just I can never trust commercials to not try to manipulate the hell out of people and use some rhetoric to make themselves look better. I like the song though
you mean because its a black guy sitting at a lunch counter? and hes sees the white guy with a full glass and wonders why he doesnt have one. the thought didnt really cross my mind.
i dont think that was their intent. coke had another commercial out around the time this was airing. it was about a guy 'sip stealing'. and there was similar line at the end, i think "not illegal in 50 states" or something.
I really like everything about this song/video clip. The riff on the keys is tight. i like how the drums build up and it pauses for a split second as though to say 'you better appreciate this fly beat I'm about to bring to you' and then boom and monster explosion of raw consistent flow. The video does it well with the coke filling during the drum roll. and all the smiles and what not. i really like it.
This makes me want to get a coke, yes. But I know that as soon as I hear the dull thud of a coke bottle at the bottom of a metal chute in some machine in a dank corner of a fluorescents lit hallway in a dingy office building, there won't be a friendly attractive waitress or bomb ass original music to help it go down. Just sucrose water and counterfeit happiness.

I saw this ad play in a commercial break of American Idol. It was the only good music I heard that hour. TRS-80 kicks so much ass.
