So what else do you need, to get all these sounds. Like what other electronics would I need to get it hooked up to the amp. Also what would you think would be a good price to pay for a used one. thanks for the vid.
@ceddy1968 All these sounds are right in the guitar. You don't need anything else. However, if You get the Line 6 XT Live pedal bard, you can program them to work together and change the tunings and patches on the guitar via foot switch. I suspect you can get them for well under $600 these days. The guitar and pedal board connect by Ethernet cable.
@Celticsaint777 It was recorded direct, through a Lexicon Omega external 24bit audio interface. Glass slide, with a pencil under the strings at the 1st fret to raise them up. I use a heavy blue teardrop Dunlop pick.
lol at the comment boxes. your playing is top stuff. got one of these two days ago and can't wait to unleash what's within. the reason i got this was to put it on a stand and do dead or alive with it then go to an electric for the solo :)
@MrDarinWarren Norwegian Wood, Love You To, Within You Without You, The Inner Light, Tomorrow Never Knows and Across the Universe to name a few. The Stones use it on Pain It Black.
@hornstrum They sell them because they do not sound natural! Lack of natural "air" resonating. HOWEVER, I found a way to record with it by using the Amplitube 3 plugin. Seems to sound best thru Amplitube's Princeton reverb into a vintage marshall cab mic'd with a Royer 121.
I sold it some time ago. But yes it did. I believe you could program any tuning you wanted too. And you could switch patches via the Line6 XT Live with an Ethernet cable.
No, it doesn't. But, as much as I liked that little axe, she was a lemon! In the middle of songs at gigs she would just QUIT. Trouble shot her any number of ways, then returned her today. She was my back-up and could have been a real sweet one if she worked properly. So it's back to searching for a bargain. See ya.
BTW: I put a pencil under the strings on the 1st fret for the slide on the Dobro model. I'm not a slide player, and don't have "the touch" required to play slide cleanly. Using the pencil raised the string enough so I could use moderate pressure with a glass slide.
Everything in life is a compromise. This guitar doesn't do 'everything' perfectly. But it does some things well enough to be in a giggin players arsenal.
I use this guitar for live...I lead worship with it. I find that it sounds great through a PA, but it lacks through an amp or straight in for recording. I love the jumbo and dread with drop on mine. Eq does an ton for it on the mixing board. A touch of reverb will make it sound more realistic.
You should work in the Marketing department at Line 6. Nice job!

I don't know, I've never dueled a banjo. It had better not step up if it values its neck.

Sounds good! Just got an acoustic 300 Variax, and have run into some tech problems. Did you have any trouble with yours?

No trouble at all. Does it have the 'Ethernet" cable connection to work with the XT Live pedal board?
