Take your expensive Rapala to the muddy, log infested creeks and rivers where I fish. A texas rigged worm or a simple spinner (both costing mere pennies) will out fish it 10 to 1.

IoI american standart of fishing = only crystal clear water and paid reservoirs full of fish + expensive super lures..Even monkey can get a fish in such conditions! Go and fish ordinary lakes and rivers...ur super lures wont work there

wow are your knees not hurting?! My friend, I had just one little question: with the live bait what to do so when you pull the fishing line it goes down quickly just like a plastic lure. It would be really good advice for me as im fishing from kayak and the lead weight can not keep up and sits on the surface when I paddle and does not go to the bottom where fish Im looking for is. I've caught the majority of my fish with rapala's. All the way up to 7lbs 08oz. These are good lures. Second would be the buzz bait, then Spinner for me. It's all about time, place, water color, temp. and of course the lure.

Try a Beetle Spin or a small Mepp's spinner bait. Both will catch bluegill and crappie and both will occasionally catch small Largemouth Bass. Easy to retrieve too. Just cast and reel. Stay away from weeds and snags and happy fishing.

I'm starting to dislike rapala.

I fish for pike and perch here in the netherlands. But it seems that rapala starts to forget their original way of producing good quality lures.

The only thing these guys make now are x-raps and balsa lures with a bad finish.

If you look at the old rapala colours, specially the ones that are silver plated. You see the original quality rapala lures. The ones they make now aren't anyway better than their little sister company storm.

I agree with burnproofaltec, they fish in private ponds located behind their store and feed the fish very little, then they take anything they can because they are so damn hungry, its not the lure that makes a fisherman good, its his confidence in catching the fish

sorry to bring ya down but I've been catfishing as long as i can remember, they fight hard for the first 10 seconds or so but unless they're monsters they give up after 10 or 15 seconds if you want pound for pound to the boat fighting u need to fish bass
