Pretty much the worst way to hit a draw ever. You should never have to close the club face before you swing for any shot. I agree with MrAssatron...go see your local PGA Professional.
Physics says the ball starts where the clubface points not on the path of the club. Think about it a ball does not start on a line into the ground when you hit down on it the ball starts on a line where the loft of the club points. If you point your clubface at your target then swing on a path to the right of it the ball will start at the target then the side spin will cause it to curve further left of the target.
@mazdaspeedmx512lbs :That would be right for very very very low club head speed, that is if the ball did not compress on the club face, like a billard ball (hard ball) stroken by another billard ball. For the speed at witch this happens, the golf ball is rather soft and the inertia of the club head accelerates the ball in the direction of the clubs path the time the ball remains compressed on the club face.
@rpolancot The ball does not start on the path of the club it starts where the clubface points. Have you heard of a thing called loft? Loft is where the clubface points. When you hit down on a ball it does not start down it starts where the loft points. The difference between the path & loft causes backspin. The physics of a left to right or right to left shot is the same as how loft works.

@mazdaspeedmx512lbs Just because the club face is pointed at the target at address does not mean it will end up there during impact when the body is position more right as he's demonstrating here. That will dictate a slightly right swing plane which is where the club face will point at during the down swing just before impact.
This is just one way to do it, but personally, this leaves me uncomfortable. I just aim right let my wrists take care of the draw. Won't work for everyone, but it works for me.

Didn't hear anything about good release or timing. My best advice, see your local pro....

Pretty bad advice...and probably impossible to follow if you don't already know how to hit a draw.

@rpolancot There's high speed cameras that catch the moment of impact and the moments after it. Science has proven that statement wrong. Sorry buddy.

lol, if you aimt the clubface at the pin, and aim to hit a draw that way, it will just start on the pin and move left if done correctly
you need an open clubface in relation to the target line, but a closed clubface in relation to the path = a slight push draw

mizping19 3 years ago
i tryed this and it puts a load of pressure on ur left knee. i think this is a bad way of hitting a draw tbh.
1andyshore1 3 years ago
What the hell are you talking about? How would swinging on the proper path put any extra stress on your left knee?
DigitalShaolin 3 years ago
What do you mean by a swing that is more "inside-out"? Does that mean a flatter swing plane?
shitskadoodle 3 years ago
it means that on your downswing you swing the club from the inside, for example, from your right knee to right of your target
hottlimited 3 years ago
i agree but you will find you will lose distance a little bit i find your technique which is my natural swing works well with driver
