  • You are not legally required to keep and kill invasive species, "it is highly recommended" You can not be prosecuted.

  • ur supposed to kill them , never release them back, there not native.

  • Snakeheads look fun to fish for but they destroy ecosystems and are spreading north

  • I have heard they are white meat and taste like crappie is that true?

  • @smartguy104 I've never had some myself but I've heard they're a good fish to eat. And I mean why not eat them all to stop their invasive movement. (;

  • @smartguy104 they taste awesome....one of the best fish my fat ass ever ate :-)

  • Its a beauty..

  • In some places you can keep them i bought one in england and i was aloud to keep it

  • Aren't you legally required to kill them?

  • @cjoutdoors1991 u just cant release the fish

  • Well that's disconcerting -_-

  • nah,its not the snakeheads fault.its the one who released them into where they do not belong in the first place.blame them.

  • those are great eatin'

  • Is that a Bullseye or Giant?

  • @tisoy909 Northern

  • It's a Northern

  • Kill it. Its going to destroy your bass fishing......

  • lol, i dont think i would fish them out with my hand =p

  • Caught three this year. Unfortunately I catch more and more every year.

  • I lived in southeast asia and fished many types of snakehead. Kill them and eat them with impunity. If the asians cant kill them all that tells you something about the reproduction ability of these type of fish. Look at Malaysia and Thailand for good recipes. Simple and easy prep. Gut, scale, and cut in to 1 inch steaks from head to tail. Then deep fry with or without batter. Salt and pepper. You can keep them alive like in the markets in a wash tub and inchs of water. They gulp air to breath.

  • If there is a market for this fish and no catch limits, the watermen in Maryland and Virginia will fish it to extinction in two years. Put a bounty on each one and they will disappear even faster. I say fish them out.

The Tidal Potomac is in Maryland by the way. The creeks on the southern shore are the only parts in Virginia.

  • I dont really like bass fishing but do it once in a awhile, I would rather catch saltwater fish but if I could catch those snakeheads like I do bass, freshwater fishing would be more fun, bass arent that great at fighting.

  • Cool looking fish.I'm glad they taste good.Sad to hear that they've been spotted in Canadian waters

  • man it sort of sucks that they're such shithead fish, i'd love to catch and release those fish if they weren't so bad for the other sport fish.

  • ooooo.. taylormade

  • i hope those never come to maine..

  • killllllllllllllll iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

thats an unglorious bastard thats contaminating all of our fresh water rivers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i cannot believe there are fucking americans on this page telling us we need to respect fucking snakeheads and let them in our waters. you are not true fisherman. you want to catch fucking snakeheads move to fucking vietnam and fish all day as for the rest of us who like our native gamefish we will kill and slaughter and snakehead that so much looks as at us. i hope the muskies in the rivers get sick and tired of these sons of bitches and wipe there asses off of any us territory.

  • my buddy and I have been catching A BUNCH of snake head in the nanjemoy creek

  • Beautiful snakehead. I want on in my aquarium.

  • call yourself an angler ? just pick the dam fish up! they are no more dangerous than a bowfin. and many times less dangerous to handle than a gar. and if id have caught that fish it would be goin straight back in the river! any one that knows anything about aquaculture and fishery managment will know that theres not a dam thing u can do to eradicate snakeheads from your potomac river. anglers killing the few individual fish that they catch will make no impact whatsoever

  • @theBfish1 I'd like to see a video of you going in a live well after a bowfin :)

  • in malaysia where i come from, its considered a prized game fish, those that u hooked on is less agressive than the native giant snakehead

  • if it wasnt in the title i thought it would have been a parana

  • in Asian countrys, it's also a game fish. but i kept it as an aquarium fish..

  • I wanna catch one just to stuff it in my living room look at how amazing it looks

  • kill it o good u did hahah

  • this is my birthday

  • lol you should have sold it to asians

  • his skin is very similar to piton snake.....

  • My buddy and I are going fishing soon up in pa. Up here, tthey're a kill on sight. We can't even transport ones.

  • KILL AND EAT THAT BADBOY UP!

It might be an invasive species but I heard it's a DELICIOUS DELICACY...

    -n30n-

  • goddamn i was bringing in a half foot carp and a snake head jumped an took it of the hook. WTF

  • The only reason why it is an invasive species because people don't eat them. There is no such thing as an invasive species in Vietnam.

  • I wish I would catch one of those, I would love to eat one of those as I have heard they are great.

  • if any of yall know if the in texas plz tell me where i cant wait to catch on one day

  • very few ppl holds respect for these fish. they are dominating the lakes and river they are in but thats shouldnt be a reason to kill them off. they are great and beuatiful fish. Snake heads are misunderstood fish. yes they are agresive and kill everything that is moving in the water but thats life for us and them so its just nature taking its place in the world no need to hate. its better to go out and catch fish then come home empty handed. with those in the water u will at least get something

  • dont put your hand in there. they have been known to take fingers even hands wen big enough so yeah

  • @MasterJokoth Yeah a snakehead took a young boys head off the other day... idiot

  • those things are destroy our ecosystem so you know wipe em out. theres no limit on snakeheads so catch as many as u

  • My wife is Vietnamese, if snakeheads lived in California I think she'd tell me to quit fishing for bluegill and go out and get her a snakehead lol. The frozen ones you can get in the supermarket just don't cut it.

  • Ugly son of a bitch fish. NOT beauftiful. Rainbow trouts are beautiful.

  • what lure?

  • so pretty

  • What's the name of the song!??? I been tryin to find it for weeks

  • @Ballersonabudget im gonna miss her brad paisley

  • I wish we had these in utah

  • where can i buy pig and jig rigs??

  • Where in the Potomac River? It is after DC?

  • if you introduce species like this into lakes or ponds that have no run-offs then they might be a major fishing attraction in the u.s.

  • Man, that is flat out COOL. Where can I buy Pig-and-jig Rigs?

  • the type of fish is moving through north america and are eating native fish. In asia people have been attacked and 1 man was killed because of them

  • wow i heard they were in there and walleyes too. i had no idea that there would be one in there that was that size though. i guess if there alive thy eat and attack everything so its just a matter of time before they start hitting the 4-5 plus pound range. i think that fish can easily take a digit right off that dude has brass balls sticking hands in that live well . yikes.i have seen them caught on top water. a pig and jig huh ??interesting for a jig fish. did you deep fry it??

  • all you guys need to check River Monsters-season 2-episode 2... those fuckers need to die. They are vicious MOFOS.

  • SNAKEHEAD are good to eat

  • Beautiful fish, but detrimental to the environment. We caught a small one(about 8") this summer (2010) and reported it to Virginia Inland Fishery. They said it was the furthest east one has been reported (we are close to Hull Neck Creek). We kept it in the freezer all summer-- all our neighbors came to take a look at it--mean looking--great set of teeth. Please go see our New Year's Weekend Potomac River videos at sssvvvwww333.

  • @4:49 that actually does look like a snake! Look at the spots & stripes on its body, like a python.

    Excellent catch by the way!

  • cool snakehead. i caught a record size sunfish. a random tourest wanted to take my picture and my autograph. ;)

  • the skin looks like a python!

  • beautiful fish, I'm kinda jealous.

really glad to see y'all were excited about it too, they're tough critters no doubt but they do not deserve the rep they've got.

  • dude kill the snakehead those are very deadly ever watch river monsters on snakeheads watch it snakeheads are very agressive they have known to take small children i read

  • did it fight alot?

  • I'm glad that you guys don't consider Snakeheads monsters.

  • kill all the snakeheads! super invasive and aggressive and evil! send em back to china!

  • Thats great. Paul is so funny trying to work up the nerve to put his hand in the live well. I was scared of those monsters at first too. Cherck out my vid.

  • In Malaysia!! That would be a trophy fish!! They are almost hunted to extiction!!! Damned good eating!!! HMMMM!!!! U boys should try to export them back to Asia!!!

  • but they look kool too but too many bass they r eating

  • KILL IT STAB THE CRAP OUT OF IT ITS EATING TO MANY BASS

  • did you kill the snakehead? you better have

  • @AvidAnglerBruce15

That fish no longer resides in the Potomac or any other body of water for that matter. Sleep easy my friend...

  • @cbadra2

actually it does, the females lay thousands of eggs and they spread rapidly. they are even in north carolina where i live so yeah, fuck snakeheads man. they destroy everything in their path

  • @cbadra2

Always remember...What you call an undesirable species, others call sport fish...For example, the European carp was considered an invasive species...it has since proven to be a more challenging and hard fighting fish than any you had in the live well...As were Northern Pike and Musky...Snake heads are here to stay, i believe its time to find the positive aspects of this predatory fish

  • @cbadra2 yes they do there is no way to eradicate them

  • @cbadra2 I just caught one today outside of Quantico, buddy. My friend killed two yesterday.

  • @cbadra2 WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!! I caught a snake head in Lake Okeechobee today!!!

  • @cbadra2 is that true?? cause last week we caught a couple near the first creek feeder by FVB but you are spose to kill them an report it to VDIGF

  • Just saw this species on natgeo. A show called Hooked. This is not a natural species in the US. and they are high predatory fish that will kill anything in its way and they breed like crazy! I thought muskies were bad but this fish actually looks both scary and pretty.

  • those are supposed to be really aggressive i saw an episode of river monsters a few days ago with those thing they're really mean

  • Hey man, I was wondering if the guys in our video are all buddies of yours, or if you are just guiding them along for a day fishing trip? So guess what I'm asking is if you guide any trips along the Potomac?

  • what did you guys do with it afterward? just kill and report it or did you eat it? cause i know your not allowed to released it

  • @lordlong

It was killed, put on ice and prepared in an incredible Caribbean curried fish recipe I have. Too many folks in the know told me I'd be a fool if I didn't eat it. It was truly one of the best fish I've ever had!

  • @cbadra2 what was so good about it?

  • @cbadra2 what part of the potomac is this?

  • @cbadra2 Still... out of the Potomac. Eh. Although they aren't as bad as Cat and Carp.

  • i dunno which is better the fish or you slick editing skills

  • thats cool as shit dude !!! was on aquia creek the other day hope'n 2 hook onto one !!! im gonna get one before the summer is over !!!!! capt.n mike-O and hunterdan ,lol

  • Pretty cool catch! Catch a couple more Paul and you'll have no problems handling them. Just treat them like you would a Northern Pike and go across the top of its back, behind the gil plate. If you want to open the mouth come up from the bottom under the gullet.

  • thats one nice fish but, ill give you a 0 on grabbing it out and,10 on putting it back!!!

  • that's a big boy

  • thats nuttttssss!!

  • damn this was caught by accident right? That is actually a really nice fish haha was it a good fight?

  • @buggyblah

We were bass fishing, so I guess you could call it an accident. Great fight!!!

  • @cbadra2 thats kinda nice haha what part of the potomac was this caught round?

  • @buggyblah
