When this happens unfortunately, the scholars simply change the meaning of the words or announce there is a different arabic meaning to those words. That doesn't help. rise, if the word in the koran is doubted with evidence then surely it should be examined and analyzed. When this happens unfortunately, the scholars simply change the meaning of the words or announce there is a different arabic meaning to those words. That doesn't help. There are parts of the koran that are against other parts according to the power the religion wielded at the time

and again i say for my exaple: one verse in the quran tells us to love death if we were truthful, and another tells us not to wish for death. Now the first was braught down while telling us about banu israel and when they claimed to be perfect, so Allah told them to wish for death if they where truthful(for death for the perfect is a mercey!). the other was to the rest of mankind telling us not to erge death for we are not ready for it no matter what.=)

if i were to look at the koran as a book and not relate to islam and not think it had any religious overtones i would say muhammed is trying to get the best of both worlds and pulling the wool over his followers eyes. My reasons for saying this is that he had 9 wives at death (muslims are allowed 4) he didn't always fast during ramadhan (muslims must) he slept with slave girls and married a friend's wife (haram for muslims)

No, because those views are still used in this day and age, so if you say i must take into account that it is 1400 years old you are also saying that things must have changed. Yes he was illiterate which is why he did not write the koran. It was written by scribes who he dictated to. The reason that is is similar to the old testament is because he was a fan of local christian stories and incorporated them into his book.
