@TheZoelzer2 Well heres what I know, a new carbon matrix runs $1300-$1400 with nothing on it. What I don't know is how well they hold their value. The bow I bought would've been $1900 brand new set up the way it is. I did my research, I just want to know what people think
@bdshank if your going to resell it, u better think about selling it within the next 3 years, after that, atot places wont buy them. but if your like me, you buy a new one, stick with it, the more u shoot with that bow the better u get, but like i said, after 3 years no one will buy them.
@Zatracenec I was thinking the same thing. I shoot at 80 & 90 yds regularly with my Jennings bow and get really tight groups. Don't get me wrong, as soon as I am able to I will get the Hoyt Carbon Element, I just thought he was going to have some amazing grouping with those arrows.
@koviack Ive meant it in the sense of safety. Shooting in the direction of the road....strange idea. :-) But I understand, that the road is maybe beyond the range of the bow with this elevation.
the design of the limb pockets on a mathews doesnt compare at all to a hoyt. where the limbs mount to the riser is very critical. most olympic shooters choose hoyt. Theyre just more dependable and more accurate. If i had to shoot another bow it would be a mathews but theyre a distant second. Hoyt has been making bows for about 80 years.. mathews only 20. come on.
nice shootin'! farthest shot I've ever taken was with an alpine archery bow. i shot a mid-lung shot on a glen-del buck target at the wvba's bowhunter shoot from 50 yards
should i save up and buy a hoyt carbon matrix or a mathews monster or z7?
I shot hoyt all my life (even though ive only had 2 bows) but i was told mathews is clearly better. im just looking for more opinions and please dont suggest other bows because im sticking with either a third hoyt or my 1st mathews
You should go with the the one that fits you best it would be between the z7 and the Hoyt I shoot several before I decided on this one but the Z7 was second. If money is a issue than there is no question.
how do you like your bow? i have the same one and im inlove my buddy shoots the diamond iceman and he shot my bow and flicked me off and now his bow is for sale..
What arrows are you using? I also have a carbon matrix, and I'm having a hell of a hard time setting it up. So many variables with shaft gpi, tip weight...etc.
@baguazhang2 I shoot the Easton Lightspeed 3D 400 I had first tried shooting some that were recomended by others but they also shot like crap they were not as good on the straightness catagory which I believe is very important along with shaft weight and spin consistancy.
I didn't see the Lightspeed in stores, and ended up getting Radial X-Weaves. I finally bought all the components for my bow, and shot it yesterday for the first time at a local shop to sight it in. Very, very nice. Now I just need to find a place where I can shoot on a regular basis!
Nice shooting dude! I just bought the Mathews Z7 and I cannot believe the groups and the speed this bow produces. I am also a Hoyt fan and have owned many of them, very nice bows too!
some people may say lol.. those are those hunters who only hunt out of tree stands and blinds only and feed them at shot no longer than 40yds max.. nothing against that i wish i could do that but its not legal.. practice and practice but most of all the love of the sport and a wall full shows you alot... somethings you got to take those longs shots so you have to practice.. i hunt california and that all i do i wish i could more but here you can pass up a fork horn.. shooting with hoyt clovis CA
Sounded like five winners, and looked like five winners. This leaves no doubt, you're a really good shot.
That is some top of the line equipment also ... I think a lot of hunters dream of owning a Carbon Matrix. I know I was thunderstruck when I first saw that bow. Have my eyes set on a Carbon Element now, but I'd settle for the newer Matrix.
Hoyt has proved their dominance in the archery world, PSE is going to be hard pressed to compete with these bows.
actually it is a little loud with out the string silencers the ones that come on it are junk did not last 100 shoots I put new ones on before hunting season now it is quiet again 2 good bucks so far this year with it, a 142" and a 167".
OMG !! NOW that is shooting !! Well done !! My 1st bow was hoyt with wooding limbs (22yrs ago) Now looking to buy my 3rd bow and its diffidently going to be a Hoyt!! Some one in the post say that bow sound loud ! NOT TRUE ! Its sound quite ! THAXS for this video !!!! COOL :-)
which rest is that? i like how tis a fall away, yet you can "cock" it and it stays up to hold your arrow in place in case you have to sit your bow down
@3dshooter25 no to the carbon element I like the little longer axel to axel length but I will probably add the roller guide and the stealth shot to mine.
Im new to bow hunting ...I just purchased a matthews switchback from a friend and dropped my first deer last week. Im hooked . Really enjoyed this video. @BuddyWackIt369 No to much of a chane the deer will move look at my other video of me shooting a deer at 100yds in that I make the comment that I would not shot a deer that far away.
Good shooting!!! I shoot the carbon matrix as well at 29/70 . Love love love this bow. Although here in illnois we dont have 80 yard shots, its still fun to shoot at those ranges. How do you like those light speeds by easton? Ive got consistant 10" groupings at 80 yds with my GT pro hunters with FF200 Vanes. Do you hunt with the light speeds? I hunt with the lightspeeds never had a problem with them being to light for hunting they blow right through the big IL deer, also have killed Elk with them as well. I hunt in southern IL as well as IN and KY.
nice man i wish i could try that bow!! But im just goin to stick with the pse untill christmas then get my hands on a z7! nice property by the way nice looking grass nice shooting it makes a perfect video thanks man! make more!
for me, six paces is ten yards. 42 paces would be seventy yards. You walked 45 paces. 75 yards. @iacomastro OK I dont usually have the target set there I moved it so I could get the distance as the corn field was geting to tall were I usually shoot from but the road is 160 yds from the target if I missed the arrow would have just burried under the grass.
@jrmridgley I really dont think you can count very well it was actually 81 yards acording to the Leupold rx 1000 range finder so if its off complain to Leupold, try looking at my other video of me shooting 100 yds so if I am off 10yrds as you think then a tleast that one should be long enough.
i really dont understand the carbon matrix, its not that fast or that light and cost's a 1/3 more than other bows in that range. but it does look real cool....nice shooting one day ill be able to do that!!
Well Done!!! Great shooting. Have you had any experience with the Maxxis 31? if so how does it compare to your the Carbon Matrix. Once again, well done!!!
