@GCAUFilms the 50mm is a prime lens which means it has no zoom and its f1.8 which means it will do great in low light situations compared to f3.5-5.6 of the 18-55mm
So, this is using the standard lens right? I'm looking at getting this camera and heard that the standard supplied lens is pretty nasty, but if that's the standard lens, i'd be VERY happy with that!
@carterproductions You should try and see if you can try out the camera with the standard lens(es) before you get it. At the end of of the day if you really wanna get into photography you probably will wanna get an upgrade lens on the kit lenses.
The lens used in the video is a 50mm f1.8 which isn't a lens that usually comes with the camera kit. However it is one of the cheapest lens you can get and probably the most 'bang for your buck'. Around $150 AUD. Often called a 'nifty fifty'.
use the strap cord of your canon 550d and pull back from your neck towards the cam. that way you will have much much more fluid shots, cause this video is veyr shaky.
hey man. what kind of filters you using? Brand? Price?

@eliasure Yeh ... just testing out the video function. Kinda new to it, thanks for the tip though. Next time will hopefully improve.

@eliasure It doesn't matter if you have a steady hand, because the 50mm has no stabelizer in it. So you will always see the shake effect.

@sadapindo noo..not really always..if you have a steady hand is much better..but if you have a tripod is even better

@shazzbazz740 You forgot to mention that the f 1.8 means you can get superb depth of field, a huge plus that the kit lens cannot do.
