  • I've listened to this a bunch of times now, do you have a myspace page or website where I can hear more of your music?

  • Beautiful! Thanks for this. I've a lot of Kawai gear in my collection; K1r, K3m, K4, K4r, XD-5: I've wanted one of these for a long time because of sounds like these - but they are hard to find. Nicely done.

  • This video is the reason I want to have a K5000 (S or R). Can somebody donate one to me? :D :D

  • reminds me the sounds of The Shamen.....great job!!!! well done....i need one to programming.

  • Using a synthesizer to emulate instruments perfectly as a goal went out back in the 1980's. Now they are used as a separate form of sound creation that sometimes seems to be another instrument. A good analogy might be the Didgeridoo which is said to resemble a barking dog or frog or whatever. It is still a unique instrument. I love this sound, this machine and the emotional effects of this song. Where might I find some songs to enjoy at home? = )

  • ***** perfect

  • Beautiful

  • This certainly is one beautiful production and I like how you talk about your "bond" with this synthesizer. I have the K5000S. I love it. I agree that it's totally adaptable to most styles. I think it gives the Access Virus and the like a powerful nudge to the side too. I use mine with an Akai S5000 for acoustic instruments, and Yamaha EX7 to balance everything out. My style leans a little more towards progressive rock mixed with some blues, funk and ethnic styles, Pink Floyd, etc.

  • it has a very clean watery sound, at least from the audio demos i'm hearing. very digital.

i like your audio, very nice to listen to.

  • The pads on this synth *are* terrific, but overdone. I think you touch on some of this synth's other flavors; very nice!

  • @ByTheHawkful

    Thanks for your opinion!

This video was meant to convey my personal feelings, thoughts, and connection that i have with this machine, reflected in my particular style and the kind of music that i like to create. The results will clearly not be satisfying to everybody as everybody is different. Perhaps in the right hands, i am confident that this machine could be fitted to any style of music, not just for its massive pads and atmos.

  • Very nice, I like it

  • These samples are so pure...

I am looking forward to get a K5000S as well.

What a pitty they are no more produced. How many are there left to the world? And why do other companies not have models with additive synthesis?

  • Really nice. I think you've got the title for best (and most listenable) demo of the K5000's breadth of sonic ability in a youtube video thus far, IMHO.

I've had mine for about 8 years and the key action is so wonderful, the sounds so inspiring, that I can just play around on it for hours on end, generating melodic ideas so organically. It's amazingly musical and may be the only piece of hardware I own that couldn't be replicated satisfactorily in software.

  • Wow beautifully surreal! I own the S version. This synthesizer is so deep and amazing. I feel that it's really capable of fitting into more than just New Age and film-score stuff though. The analog synth emulations are nice, and it can deliver decent punchy 80's synth stuff that sounds good in reggae and classic and progressive rock. It's deep AND wide, the mark of a really powerful synth. I have mine sitting atop a Yamaha CP-30 electric piano. It's my 21st century "Solina"!

  • Nice! I have the K5000S and I think you've captured the special qualities of this synth very well! Nice with something to watch instead of an LCD screen as well.

  • @doctorzingo

Yes, having owned it since they first came out, I can conclude that that is the best thing they were made for: unique, evolving and complex pads.

  • @ElenaDiakova It is for sure in the top 5!
