Just like how Abraham loves Isaac his son, but still he followed God no matter what trial He gave him. Little Mermaid never gets too corny, no matter how old we get. This is so sweet. And I appreciate it even more now. I'm a Christian too and I totally understand your pain. I loved this guy who I didn't think was a Christian and it was so painful but by being myself he rekindled the faith he'd had with God and lost a few years ago. Our 6 month anniversary is in 3 days and just shows that when God has something in plan it will work out. Make sure whatever happens you stay true to yourself and your faith and you're not changing to please a guy or your parents. Pray and see what happens. God bless.
Come on.. Religion don't makes people.. the people creates themselves.. regardless of faith we can meet good or bad person.. it's all comes down to in what environment was the person bringed up and what kind of expierences one have... @littleduckiesocks Literally all I watched until I was six were Disney animated movies. Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Cinderella, Snow White, Fox and the Hound, Peter Pan, Pinnochio, all the ones made before 1998. And I still watch them now. The newest ones aren't the best. I'd say the most recent one I like is Ariel's Beginning.

I live in Japan with my husband, I left everything behind to live with him out of love. It is not possible to live in the US and in Japan at the same time, as it is impossible for Ariel to live in the ocean and on land at the same time..she wanted to stay on land it was her choice. lol though if we wanna get into it more she dies in the original story and get no love

Her daughter Melody desperately wanted to be a Mermaid, but she didn't want to leave her family behind. And she united the mermaid/men and human communities. Because she's half mermaid half human or something like that.

no offense to everyone out there who liked the ending in the little mermaid, but i didn't like the fact that ariel went back to being a human with legs. it's like she is denying what she truly is (even though it is for love). wouldn't it help the humans get along with the mermaids/men if they loved each other without her becoming human?

@infiral28 i dnt think ariel was trying to deny who she was, she never said she didnt like being a mermaid. she just wanted somethin different, she didnt think the mermaid lifestyle was all she wanted to live with. she wanted to check out how humans live, but i get the whole mermaid/men gettin along thing tho, that would make sense

@infiral28 She wasn't denying what she truly was, and she didn't do it to make peace. She did it to be with the one she loved. A part of her will always be with the sea, as they even established in the 2nd movie, but love comes first.

@infiral28 I'd never thought of it that way, but, if she went back to being a mermaid she couldn't be with Eric, whether he loved her or not. To quote the film Ever After "A bird may love a fish signore, but where would they live?". It's not her denial of who she is, it's her sacrifice

@infiral28 mermaids and men are two very different species with two very different needs. it would be near-impossible for them to do anything or live together, what with Ariel having to flop around in water and Eric needing, you know, oxygen. not to mention sexual satisfaction, which is an integral part of any adult relationship. you are being unrealistic.

In the end, there was unity between the the kingdom of Triton and that of the men. She embraced her being a mermaid but she needs to be human to be with Eric... and Eric loves her even though she is a mermaid... :)

I live in Japan with my husband, I left everything behind to live with him out of love. It is not possible to live in the US and in Japan at the same time, as it is impossible for Ariel to live in the ocean and on land at the same time..she wanted to stay on land it was her choice. lol though if we wanna get into it more she dies in the original story and get no love

Her daughter Melody desperately wanted to be a Mermaid, but she didn't want to leave her family behind. And she united the mermaid/men and human communities. Because she's half mermaid half human or something like that.
