@gklr What evidence? What testimonies? The ooey-gooey feelings when the preacher works you up into a frenzy hitting all the sentimental, emotional buttons in your head along the way? Listen, I don't know you from Adam, but if you came here to tell me religion or belief in the gods is legitimate, you're barking up the wrong tree. I was a minister, a believer for 40 years, so move along. I know it is all nonsense, complete garbage from stem to stern.
Well Mike, instead of wasting your time as a minister you might have instead wasted your time reading some logic instead... and that way you see, you wouldn't have so missed my point that saying "we don't see..." says nothing about "we".
I am an atheist... you by all accounts don't know what that is.
And testimonies are evidence in court... and here too. You confuse evidence with proof. Theists have no proof, they have mounds of evidence. All of it lame.
@gklr I am an atheist, so I know exactly what the word refers to: It refers to me, and I see no evidence of a god, therefore, that's what it means. Shall we continue this childish exercise?
I'm pretty sure Obama is an athiest, sure he goes to church aparently....but I think it's just a front.
I really don't like the word atheist much, irreligious is a little better...but when it comes down to it, we are the normal people & they are the theists.
It's not like we define anything else we belive way saying that we are not soemthing else.
Atheists are the most hated minority. It only makes sense that wackos would use it to paint everything they oppose in it. The word "Atheist" is the new "comy", although that has been flung about a lot, lately too.
Atheist is such a loaded word. Unfortunately the dictionary definitions don't help as many say it is the positive belief that there is no god. When I try to tell some theists that it means that I simply don't buy their claims they feel justified in sticking to the "You claim there is no God. Prove it." thing. And, based on the dictionary I can't really blame them.
"we don't see any evidence of a god" is not only saying nothing about "we", it is false.
Testimonies are evidence in court and they are evidence here too.
I am an atheist, and I think you don't know what that even is.
What theists don't have is proof, they have tons of evidence and atheists pick apart that evidence on a constant basis.
Do you label anyone who corrects you as childish?

@MikeOfKorea,
No you don't know me from Adam.... but to assume I have ever been to church once would be a mistake.
"The ooey-gooey feelings when the preacher works you up into a frenzy hitting all the sentimental, emotional buttons in your head along the way?"
Error padre. No preacher has ever spoken to me.
"if you came here to tell me religion or belief in the gods is legitimate"
Wrong again. I said they had evidence. They do. All of it lame. LIES are evidence in court. They are here too.

"we don't see any evidence of a god" is not what the word atheist refers to.
You don't know what it describes anymore than those you criticize.

For instance I'm not-vegitarian. I'm not-a clown.
We don't need a word...

I have seen no proof that Ms. Cunter can read.

An atheist once told me, "I suspect that I am God."
He was quite surprised when I said, "You are."
Then I said, "Each man's god must be greater than himself."
