Ignorant religious bigot has gone to pester somebody else who doesn't care, after leaving his final gem - the dumbest comment I've seen in years. Where do people get such warped ideas about Buddhism? CCP propaganda is a real possibility.
I think that when someone calls themselves His Holiness, THAT'S ego based behavior. Be a monk and stop talking. Your religion is flawed, just the rest of them are. In order to be spiritually enlightened, one must not be religious, true spirituality transcends ALL religions. You should know that if you were spiritually enlightened Mr. Lama
@FenderRhodes2 Where does one even begin, in the face of such ignorance that supposes this man calls HIMSELF "His Holiness", which is plain idiocy. Pronouncements on who and who isn't "enlightened" is in fact totally ego based behaviour. Barely a step up from the previous comment, but at least you can spell.
@agam4 The Dali allows his followers to call him His Holiness. if I was enlightened being, I would just simply have people call me by my first name and not change my name or take on some given name like I am someone special. To be fully enlightened, one must not have an ego or dishonesty. the Dali has already behaved in a contradictory manner. He has said he doesn't endorse politicians, yet he'll attend public events with politicians to promote himself and them at the same time.
@FenderRhodes2 So you think he should disallow Tibetan Buddhists from calling him by the title given to the 4th Dalai Lama (10 lifetimes ago according to their own belief system)? What makes you so special to issue this decree? "Dalai" is that title, it's not his first name (nor is it "Dali" - you're thinking of Savadore), nor is his family name "Mr. Lama".
He in fact often says, "My name is Tenzin Gyatso, and I am a simple monk." His people and the world know him universally by his title.
@agam4 If he is a simple, the why does he promote himself as someone special? He shouldn't accept any money, gifts, he shouldn't travel around the world. Simple monks are supposed to keep their mouths shut and reside in their place of worship, and not promote their religion. Also, it is my contention that he drinks an elixir that contains enough alcohol to give him bad judgement. He does drink elixirs doesn't he? He is only a 3rd level old soul, nothing more.
@agam4 hardcore religious followers are usually considered to be Baby souls that haven't lived enough lifetimes to know that religion isn't spiritual studies. god didn't create a religion, man did, and it has been modified throughout the years. The Dalai shouldn't be promoting his religion, it's like Jehovah witnesses going door to door, he just does it on mass scale and uses the media to promote his ego-based hypocritical behavior.
@agam4 If his name is Tenzin Gyatso and he his a simple monk, then he should denounce himself as the Dalai Lama, give up all his money/ gifts, go back to his country, keep his mouth shut and repent. Haha. Oh, and he should stop trying to take over Tibet as "his" country.
@FenderRhodes2 Repent! Seems as though we have a religious bigot on our hands here. One with obvious disdain for Buddhism while ignorant of it, yet professes to know what monks are "supposed" to do and not do. One who has "contentions" about HHDL's diet, and then gives it all away with his assessment of the Tibet issue. Learning about any of these things is trivially easy, but the final comment is a "tell" and my earlier suspicion has been confirmed. I don't waste time on the stubborn, sorry.
@agam4 Well, ask the Dalai what his monks do. They aren't allowed to speak. He has discussed that he drinks an "elixir". elixirs, or brewed teas which have been consumed for thousands of years, like kombucha, have alcohol in it. I don't know if his is kombucha, but, he has mentioned the word "elixir", which typically contain enough alcohol to feel slightly drunk. I only become stubborn when I have read enough. I have read books about spiritual studies that you probably haven't read, and?
@agam4 Hey go and chant for a couple of hours. Nam-myoho-renge-kyo..... Like that actually does anything in the long run...... It's just one method of relaxing.....
Religious bigot? If I don't wish to belong to any religious cult because I find it hypocritical and no one religion explains things with common sense, then why should I promote that behavior? I find too many religious leaders trying to promote and convert those into THEIR religion, which I find annoying.
@agam4 So you are into Buddhism? Then you must have shaven your head, wear robes, chant, read scripture and don't speak, don't get married, etc. If not, then don't you think you might be hypocritical? The only true Buddists are the ones that adhere to this way of life.
Oh come on, is that the best you can do? Urgly? I'm ready for some intelligent comments here, give it your best shot. Let's see what the "50 centers" can do.
it took me a lot of seconds to realize he was talking in english
