@arthurrobins Does a parent want their child to disobey them and touch the hot stove? No. The same is true with God. He wants us to obey and choose to follow Him. The parent could stop the child, but the child will continue to try to touch the stove. Children learn from consequences. So does mankind. War and illness are consequences of sin. God could stop it, but what would we learn?

I agree with you in that I believe that God does not control everything that happens. He does control some things, and He will control certain things in our lives if we ask Him to.

I don't agree that God is just the "Landlord." He will have an active part in our lives if we let Him.

Two of my best friends died in a car crash two weeks ago but God knew it was going to happen 32 people got saved at the funeral the Bible says "ALL things work together for good to them that love God" now how could bad stuff that happens work for good if Gods not in control

God knows everything that is going to happen. that does not mean that He makes it happen.

God's foreknowledge (which would include what some philosophers call "Middle Knowledge") anticipates not only the free will decision, but the decision- making processes we have, including which preconditions we connect to specific decisions.

God does not need cause us to make a decision, He simply supplies the pre-conditions we attach to a particular decision, and the freewill does the rest.
