  • @charlesisgayerthanyo if u cant figure out the sticking for this from watching him play it slowly you must be retarded

  • That awesome lick on the hats from 0:35 - 0:37 is that just a paradiddlediddle or?

  • @DaltonTheDwarven Eh it seems more like inverted doubles starting on 3 with the right hand in 32nd notes. Just a guess though..

  • Muito bom Parabens viu...

Tem como olhar meu novo trabalho ? gravado em São Paulo!

    /watch?v=vBt-FmK3Iys

Obrigado galera vai ser o novo sucesso das RADIOS!

  • do you ever get hungry while playing the drums?

  • Tk u !

  • Perfect snare sound.

  • @TheDrumDepartment

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds in the original like Jerome doubles the bass notes. I noticed it sounds a lot faster this way...

  • Rick Gratton has a book out filled with these type of licks. Lots of fun!

  • wow...all these awesome licks are linear

    ~~Smiley~~

  • what camera are you using to record this.

is it digital or dv tape?

does it have input level adjustment?

  • what kit is that I like the size of it and the toms sizes you are using, my lit now is to big.

  • It has a paradiddle feel to it

  • do you like your ludwig acrolite? is it easy to tune and does it stay in tune?

  • you look awful familiar. do you demo for memphis?

  • What kind of crash are you using on the left?

  • pls pls pls tell me the sticking on the hihate at 0.36

  • @mypennis It's the same sticking as he showed you in the beginning. (LKRLKRLK) He moves it around the kit. S(Snare) R (Rack Tom) F (Floor Tom) H(High Hat) K (Bass Drum) SKSRKFFK SKRKFFK FKHFKFHK SKSRKFFK It's 32nd notes. Four groups of 8 notes. Sticking for beats 1, 2, and 4 are the same pattern. Slick stuff is on beat three. After you play the lick, add another kick with the crash on the one.

  • very nice. all of your video's are great and very usefull

  • Donnie Marple taught me how to play drums some. He was the assistant drumline instructor at my high school a few years ago. THEN he went and got famous.

  • Great lick! If I may something about technique, it might benefit you to use a little more wrist and finger and a lot less arm.

  • god i need music that has this kinda drumming, any suggestions?

  • im in love with the beat u played at :33

  • your snare sounds awesome!

  • Ok so he changes the sticking in the 1st way. In the first way its LKRL KRLK

  • Thanks for breakin' that down-you made a subsriber of me and I'm stealing every lick!!!

  • no sticking pattern

  • LKRL KLRK

  • @FaithIsAccidental thanks!!

  • @FaithIsAccidental Sticking is actually LKRL KRLK

  • That's what I meant t type, my bad lol :P

  • @FaithIsAccidental U actually had me practicing that for a while haha :P than i was watched and was like waiitttt ha..

  • This is gonna be cancerous when I learn it lol

  • I didn't know white guys could pull off grooves like this

  • @cmd0719 thats what i said!

  • omggg that lick is sick listen to jerome playing it

the website is in more info box. he plays it at 4:12

  • how do you play that groove on the hi hat at 0.37

  • Nice frosty Acro!

  • How do you do that awesome beat on the hi hat coming out of the tom fill?

  • dude watta freek ...slwn tht shit dwn...G'zzzzz

  • sick man!!! i was looking for right now and i found you nice!!!

  • hey,

could you tell me the hi-hat sticking that you put on the groove at 0:35?

  • watching videos, Jerome starts most every fill left handed. Anyone else notice that? Here's the pattern if anyone's having trouble LFRL FRLF LFRL FRLF LFRL FLRF LFRL FRLF it's all 32nd notes to fill out a complete bar. (this isn't easy for me, so don't sweat it if it's tough to play the notes even and correctly spaced)

  • now could you tell me what instruments he hits under those stickings like s=snare 1 =first tom 3=floor tom f=foot

  • thats funny... i know jertome he used to come into the drum shop all the time... thats funny

  • Super-cool lick!! THX for sharing it!!

  • ggot this lick down packing in 1minuite

  • is it FLRLFRLF?

Correct me if im wrong cause i learned the FLRLFLRF but some people sayins its LFRLFRLF

  • it's LFRLFRLF bro! happy drumm'n!!!!!!

  • fuck. if you are attempting to play any of these licks, this should be simple enough to understand. if you cant pickup on this, you definitely arent ready to be learning advanced fills.

  • can't say it more clear than that!!!

  • What type of sneers that? What heads are you using? It sounds really good.

  • Looks like a Ludwig snare.

  • u did the last one too fast for me

  • the other drumdepartment videosdont explain anything though. thats why i like mike johnston so much, be breaks down everything =)

  • these are just lessons for more andvanced drummers....and remember the beat makes the drummer

  • thats becuz its for advanced drummers...u guys think u can just come on youtube and learn all these licks in no time and ur just gonna be amazing but if u cant take the time out to hone ur craft then u might as well quit playing....u have to crawl before u can walk...this stuff doesnt just come easy, just like everything else, it takes work

  • this guy might come off as a dick, but no matter how much you disagree you know he's right. shit takes lots of time to learn

  • OR...people learn things differently. NERDZ might be able to pick it up better if he had it written out...

  • Well, you must be the only one who couldn't see what sticking he was doing...

He played it all on the snare first too!

This is a good video and has a great sound to it.

  • u dnt play it slow at all

  • its not hard to understand at all but the sticking is for anyone who didnt get it

    LFRLFRLF

    =]

  • This doesn't take an engineer from Nasa to understand what's going on here. The lick is very simple and you should be grateful he broke it down cause when it's played up to tempo, it can be hard to know what's going on. Anyway, if it's too complicated UNDERSTANDING drums you should really continue playing "Rock Band" and think you rock... ;-)

  • @JeffrayFiset Come on, bro. There is a lot of different back-stories with these dude's drumming. Just chill, man.

  • @JeffrayFiset stick a pin in your head to let some of that hot air out bud, its a little to big to be walking around like that

  • great! x

  • dude, thanks for posting this demo. that lick is BEAST for sure. my favorite in his whole solo.

  • No offense, mate, but what to explain here? What to see here? The sticking is LKRLKRLK. It's nothing fancy, is it?

  • Hey that's wonderful.. I know Jerome is AMAZING...he really has some smoooooth talent! The boy is basically a BEAST!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah obviously what kind of snare drum

  • Ludwig Acrolite 14"x5".

  • what kinda snare is that

  • its a snare drum )

  • Thanks for puting this up. A lot of people ask me about that lick but i never have time to make videos!!!

  • Thanks! Love your playing. Drums are cool but you're making MUSIC when you play and that's what it's all about.

  • dude, i love you!!!

  • thx that lick is nasty!

  • thanks man, that's a great linear pattern

  • Thanks! I've been trying to figure out what he did forever! Your amazing!!!

  • Awesome

    keep the videos comin!

    There Great!

  • nice!

  • L F R L F R L F

  • Yes. Jerome plays the kick drum with the first left hand on the initial downbeat and rests on the second 32nd note (kick) when starting the fill. It would look something like this.

    L R L F R L F - L F R L F R L F ...

    F

  • Thanks!!!

    please keep posting videos!

  • Thanks for sharing! Much appreciated!
