@chillibeans22 Chrysler is ten times the company that ford is. Ford refused bailout money because they knew if they waited, people would come back to them once the other 2 accepted the bailouts. Ford is a nasty, rude company who actually believes they manufacture decent cars, when in fact they are the height of resentment, and most people are quite sorry after they spend money on these new models. They promise much and deliver nothing. Another way to screw the consumer !
This also avoids any legal conflicts with dealers who hold lifetime agreements on the rights to sell Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler. Breaking it up this way would inspire faster product development as more than one retail distribution channel would be providing orders to the plant. Nissan, VW and Renault could also develop and provide the cars under the Dodge, Chrysler Jeep brands for all dealers involved.
For Cerberus this would be perfect as they would not have to deal with the unions yet would be in the money when the economy comes back in a year or two. Think of it this way Walmart, Target, etc don't actually build what they sell. They are a sales and marketing organization only have been known to make a few bucks at it. This is all being discussed now.
Chrysler could also sell the Minivan plant to VW since the VW Routan minivan is built by Dodge. Cerberus get the asset off its books at a profit, dodge dealers keep their mininvans, VW owns nameplate/production and away we go. They same could hold true for Jeep as Renault, who owned Jeep previously (AMC) would like to have it back. If Cerberus breaks it up this way everybody wins. Cerberus will only own the sales/marketing part of the company.
Still think there will be mergers/brand sell-offs of sorts. Chrysler could sell its Dodge truck plant and RAM nameplate to Nissan who continues to build the trucks along with the next generation Titan. Ceberus gets the asset off its books with a profit, dealers get their trucks, Nissan gets a plant or two and workers keep their jobs. Does anyone really care WHO owns the plant.
no, I don't. Chrysler has screwed too many people over, out of the Big 3 more people are going back to or over to GM and Ford so out of the Big 3 unless they have a major breakthrough or downsize the company down to next to nothing, I see Chrysler going under before GM or Ford.
I can be wherever I want you crazy nutswinger. Stop trying to "shield" any comment that isn't what you like.
How the hell am I stalking you, when I was commenting on this video first? more like YOU trying to make comments on every video, which is why we cross paths on the several I've commented on. I'm not the mindless idiot who buys into nearly every piece of marketing hype and some insane automotive brand loyalist who can't even drive! Think before you make stupid responses kid, get lost.
BS! Complete BS! Here they go sending my car company belly up down the river, the investors can't stand the fact that Chrysler is private! With in a year they will be able to buy GM! And possible Ford! The UAW Thinks its bad because there laying off workers. The case is there stream lineing operations so they don't need somone to hold the screw while another guy attaches a screw driver! They taught him to hold the screw and work the screw driver! Chrysler is not going anywhere! The ENVI's rock!
Carlos Ghosn said there are no problems at a car company good products can't solve. I believe Chrysler needs better products and to expand into larger markets, even if they get the loans. It happened once with Chrysler and they came up with the K cars.
Chrysler has certainly contributed to our oil-dependent economic woes. How ironically appropriate for Chrysler to be one of the big corporations to now fail as a result of their own shenanigans.
Isue to work for Chrysler and it was going down hill fast after Beinez left them in the cold. Suck for them because all their cars lack Quality, most of them are like 80% plastic.
