sweet dive but no wonder u guys are always crooked when u hit the water, u guys twist right off of the platform. he was almost twisted halfway around before his feet even left.
Greg will always be the greatest diver of all time. That pimp got the gold in the 3m and the 10m...These days the divers are pussies and cant do both. Greg is the Micheal Jordan of diving. bottom line.
you also won't go to the Olympics...when i was 9 years old i could do a 3 somersaults off the 3 meter. Divers now are pussies because they can't compete in both the 10m and 3m. I competed in both. So until you start competing on both you're a pussy.
LOL. you might still be a pussy. Look, Greg won OLYMPIC Golds in both. You just wont ever see that again. Also i guarantee you that I was 10 times a better diver than you. No question in my mind. If you want I can send you my autograph.
I'm a big fan of Despatie but I don't think that Despatie can do some of the things Louganis can. I have yet to see Alex do a reverse twister on the 10 meter platform. And Greg Louganis competed on both 3 and 10 as well. Check the 1984 olympics stats. He took first place in both. So Louganis actually surpassed him by winning two golds in the olympics. And He Chong can beat him on 3 meter any day. Even Tom Daley and took first place just a few months ago on the 10 meter platform in Rome.
@billabongmnkyboy alex doesnt do reverse twister cuz no one doesnt really do those anymore, back twisters r easier to get higher DD with, and he stopped doing tower 2 years ago so he nvr competed against tom daley except in 07 where he beat him. and he chong is very good but hes not as consistent. even though he has .4 more difficulty he only beat alex by 10 points at worlds, and alex missed 3 dives at worlds cuz he only trained for 2 months before worlds cuz he hurt his back
I don't know... You say He Chong is not as consistent, but based on what I've seen so far he has had more consistency in nailing dives in the last few months. I'll give Alex more time to get back into shape before I decide who I think is the better diver but as of right now, I see less consistency in Alex when trying to earn high scores from the judges than He Chong does. And they don't have a DD for a 5355 since no one has ever attempted it on 10 meter. Just 3 meter.
But I have a feeling that if they made a DD for it, it would be slightly higher than the 5255. It would be really crazy to see that dive in action though. Only one guy does it on 3 meter and that's Yahel Castillo from Mexico. It's pretty intense. He's the one guy in the world on three meter who has the highest scoring DD when he nails it.
@billabongmnkyboy i ment over time, cuz he chong hsa been diving since 2005 and he did well there but in 2007 he went from 2nd to like 8th. and in 2009 he only scored 504 while in beijing he scored 572, he still won but franktly that copitition wasnt very good for anyone
Thanks - It was taken about 25 years ago - I sent the link to Greg and he said, "Wow - that's some old footage...I have seen it many times as well, and get goosebumps every time. He is always going to be THE GREATEST DIVER EVER.
that was beautiful...

Amen to that! Just watching him dive you too get the joy of movement, even if you're just sitting and watching. And the sense of wonder!
