If you want this series released on DVD, petition for it on the Shout Factory website. They've been bringing out a ton of awesome shows from the 1990s like Reboot, Beast Wars, Meta Bots etc. so if there's enough support for it they might release Monster Rancher.

Well , "Mu" can take on different meanings in Japanese, depending on the character/s used to compose it. In this case, it was probably the kanji " 無 " by itself, ( nothingness, emptiness, void ), which fits the main villain pretty well :).
