he is awful in singing vowels...unhearable...and he sings mozart too...from italy...je performed leporello at la scala on 7th dec 2011...he was terrible...
I love this with bass-baritones. It sounds more evil, although Iago is still no match to Hagen or Claggart. Basso profondo is jsut the ultimate evil voice. :D
And Bryn looks quite handsome with this long hair and beard.
Give this great artist a break. The weather conditions are obviously awful to sing in. The producers of this event should have thought twice about this. Singing outdoors is difficult enough without it being in the dense cold.
For those who criticise this performance, you must allow for these technicalities due to the intense weather conditions. It is intensely difficult to produce such bellowing notes when the vocal cords are stiff.
There's a fine line between what he does and the sort of singing you get with Cappuccilli, Hvorostovsky and others at the top of the tree.
Not that he doesn't have the voice, it's just the way he's using it here that is not, in my opinion, equal to the best around, or even his best, I'm sure.
Probably just this recital - we're all human after all...
It's so much fun to watch his earlier videos, and his more recent videos to hear the change in voice...

I agree.
His body language gives it away too.

@Scarpia90 I'm glad you put that disclaimer haha because he doesn't shout at all in fact his vocal technique is impeccable.
