There are 196 countries on Earth. 197, this month, if Palestine be give Independence. Each one of these nations (197 of them) should have a seat at the United Nations. This should be the UN's goal. To unite all nations on Earth, and give each nation a chance to speak if needed. Every nation should have one representative to join the round table of the UN. Meaning we need 197 chairs only and 197 hotel rooms per meeting of the UN. Communist, capitalist, dictator, doesnt matter. A chair per nation!
@blogbat China has every right to be a permanent member on the security council and possibly in the future India will also be a permanent member. Both countries have populations in the billions. As for Germany and Japan having a permanent seat on the security council; that is joke. Japan is washed up and is an American lackey. And giving another European country the permanent seat make no sense when not a single African or Latin American country holds a permanent seat.
@dhilrukshan Communist China doesn't even have a right to have a seat at the UN, let alone the UNSC. It should be derecognized until democratic regime change has been fully implemented. The most genocidal regime in world history holds no claim to legitimacy in any way, shape, matter or form. Now India is another story, and it has made great progress toward respecting the human rights of its people. It's not perfect, but it's certainly a truer and more liberal democracy than Russia.
@dhilrukshan On Germany and Japan, these are both states that know well what war can bring and it would be wise to add their input on matters of international security. Simply because they aren't Russian or Chinese lackeys doesn't mean they are unqualified. But I agree it would be nice to see an African and Latin American presence. Question is, which ones. Pick Colombia and Venezuela has a cow; pick Ethiopia and Egypt does likewise.
@blogbat Have you heard of G4??? If they agree it won't be necessary to "pick" a country, the country to represent Latin America will be the biggest economy and one of the largest contributors of troops to United Nations for peace-keeping missions: Brazil.
@dhilrukshan, Japan has been at peace for over 60 years and provides 20% of the total UN budget, which is more than the contribution paid by Russia, China, Britain and France combined. How is that a joke? It seems that the biggest joke is to have a dictatorship like China who accounts for only 3% of the UN budget sitting as a permanent member with the veto power. A country where even the internet is subject to state censorship deciding on global security matters, now, THAT is a joke.

Germany and Japan need to be made permanent members, while China needs to be kicked off. Either that or a league of democracies should be created.
