I'm from Ireland and that's how we pronounce it, I have american cousins and they say uh-dee-duhs. What really pisses me off is they think they're pronuncing it correctly and we're wrong.
i noticed americans pronounce it a-dee-dus. in australia we pronounce it ad-ee-das pretty much like the way the guy said it, americans... always trying to be different lol jokes
@ChrisDonaldsonVideos in my opinion that does not count for brand names. i personally think they should be pronounced the way they were "invented". another example: most people here pronounce "nike" wrong, not "nikey" but nike like "hike".
I hate when people pronounce it uh-DEE-duhs, but I think it's only in America (maybe Canada too?) where they pronounce it like that so I don't have to hear it too often :-)
The common anglicization heard in the United States is uh-DEE-duhs and thats how I say it. It sort of makes me cringe to hear news anchors employ a fake accent or pronunciation so I guess I feel the same way about this brand name.
well, it's a german brand just like porsche - most american say "porsh" or "porshee" afaik - and that's just wrong. germans on the other hand say brands like "nike" wrong mostly. they dont say "nikey" but well yeah "nike" like in "like".
@outlawbawla Yeah. Do you mean aDEEdus. When people say it like addy-das it pisses me off! some english people say it like that (southern england) GRRRRR
i say it like that. but my girlfriend says it like>> adee das it must be a northern thing.. but im from birmingham.. n americans think they mek everythin lool
Everyone pronounces it differently in countries because of accents but Adidas shouldn't be too hard for us Americans to say it the proper way. After all if you really listen to a German speak, you can even understand what they're saying so it really shouldn't be hard for us to say it the correct way.
Also I have come across people who say it like that.
Lol I have this friend who has a boyfriend who is American and he laughed at me when i said Adidas (the correct way) and he's like "i would know because it's an American brand" -_- The next time i see him I'm guna shove this in his face because i was right!! lol
Love it! It sounds so much better than the way americans say it.
I used to live in South Africa, and the first time I heard an American pronounce Iraq eye-rack I was like 'what an idiot!' Now that I live in the U.S. I have fallen. I'm ashamed to say that sometimes I say it the same way :(
tell you something, in German you don't have th sound and the s is harder.................. i will go with uddy-duss making the 2 ds hard and equal and here in america people talk like crazy.........damm fast........
Es ist eine deutsche Marke also spricht man es eben überall auf der Welt so aus, wenn man es richtig macht - genauso wie "Nike" "neiki" ausgesprochen wird und "Porsche" nicht "Porschi" oder "Porsch" :)

Remember though every country has it's own accent, in an English accent / American it should be pronounced a-dee-das
