@tetraederthorsten You forgot about the tedious driving in slow jeeps that need repairing all the time, but yea enemy checkpoints that respawn after 2 seconds is really annoying.

If you upgrade your graphics card to say...something like a 8800 GTS or something you might play this on medium or high, but with that card I doubt you can even play it on low settings with good framerates since the 7200 is not really a gaming card.
the pc can do many things that the consoles cant.. i know consoles is cheaper.. its just the choice between a pc with the cost of 1000 dollars and a ps3 for 600 dollars.. and i will sacrafice 400 bucks more for a pc :) (the price of the ps3 is different in different countrys where i live its pretty expensive cuz of high tax )
A ps3 can do everything what a pc can(now..). X360 is the console that reached it's maximum with gears 2 and that was it's limit. The PS3 have much more potetial. Killzone 2 uses only 45-50% of it's power and i think it is a great graphic game. Of course if it is 600$ where you live than yes it is too much for it. I get my PS3 last year for 299$ (80GB) :)

You'll do really good, but I recommend you use Vista for Directx 10, it's going to be a noticeable upgrade in graphics and performance will be better since you have a dx10 card and the card will be used better...otherwise you're like wasting its potential.
v nice but ive played this game on the xbox, ordered a new pc and this is coming with it. But i would always have a sniper and some half decent explosives equipped so you could get those nice long range shots, pc's always have beaten consoles when it comes to stealth and tacticts.

and with PC your not limited to 1080p, like console is, PC you can go as high as 1600p, and besides most console games aren't even running at 1080p, most likely 720p
so PC, is more than double the resolution, and you can get DirectX 10 video cards.
it just makes more sense (to me) to take the money you would spend on a console, and put it towards buying a really nice $300 video card in an existing computer, this way you got a gaming rig/multipurpose PC, instead of Console, and shitty computer

with around $1100 or so (like 1981z28camaro said) you can build a REALLY nice computer that can play all the latest games at the highest settings...and I think putting together a puzzle is harder than building a computer, it's incredibly easy, of course a PC that can play these games if you buy it, it would cost at least $1500 but usually more.

the only thing vista 32 bit limit's is ram to about 4 gigs and you get a bit better performance in 64 bit too, but not as much of a difference as one might expect

Uhm, GTX 295 has beaten the worlds best ATI HD 4870x2, It's only around €500,- if im right, but it get on alot of games alot better FPS then the HD4870x2, I admit that I'm some kind of Nvidia fan, but I don't stop anyone to buy ATI cards, ATI cards are often better and smoother at running games, but it has alot less compability then the Nvidia cards, correct me if im wrong, but I often hear ATI cards have graphic glitches & shit, and Nvidia has more software? (Idk never used ATI)
over 95% of games in 2008 where coded to run better on Nvidia cards thats a huge buying point right there, plus nvidia cards have amazing driver support, bad point they are a lttle more expensive but they are a higher quality build so they are worth every penny more, plus the warrenties are great and usually life time or 10 years, Nvidia will stand by there products, lots of companies will even allow overclocking and water cooling, ATI usually give 1 year warrenty after that u r on your own.
Your right, I won't ever buy a ATI card, they perform good on alot of games, but I'm just having better feeling at having Nvidia stuff, like I said earlier, for the software + much more compability to run all kind of aplications, some games even have special options to fix things on ATI cards, and I think the lifespan and durability is much better, I hear alot that people their ATI cards die in a few months -.-

Sorry but Nvidia dont cheat in games, they pay companies for advertising and maybe to use there games whilst making it so it will run better with there cards, which isnt cheating its making sure there cards run the best for there customers, something ati could learn from.
Anyways I'm staying on the side of Nvidia, for the reasons I already gave, I've always used those cards, and never had any problems with them, games didn't have strange graphical glitches and so on, and it's no cheating, look at R3APERvsTYETREE's post, he explains it.

i dont agree with one comment i saw, that this was better than crysis. this has the detail but crysis has the physics, the distructable world and the storyline. far cry 2's storyline aint that good really. if you mixed the detail of far cry 2 with the story, physics, and destructable world of crysis, the greatest game on earth will be born.lol
the price is without the screens though. screens i got for 169.99 each. i started with one on my old pc and then got another when i got my new PC about a month ago.
and my processor, AMD Phenom 8750 2.4 GHz, never goes above 40% usage, even when running crysis maxed out. i also have 2 samsung 22" HD screens. the whole gaming experience on it is incredible. NO LAG EVERRRRR. i built it for £650 in the end at its a dream computer.
now days you need a decent computer to run modern games on high spec. i got... AMD Phenom 2.4GHz, 2GB DDR2 1066 MHz RAM, NVidia 9800GT on a crossfire MOBO so i can add another if i wish, 750watt PSU, 320GB HDD, Sound Blaster 7.1 surround sound card, VISTA Home Basic 64-bit, DIRECT X 10. I can run anything thats out at the moment of full spec at 70-100 FPS(CRYSIS, maxed out), 80-100FPS(Far Cry 2, maxed out), and anything else. i never go below 60fps on anything that i play.
gotta be sed, dx10 makes things like far cry 2, crysis and flight sim X look so good on a hd screen.you gotta have the power though, shit computer = no fun

where did i say i havent seen an uncharted 2 vid. i have seen the trailers. the graphics are good. yes but there only better than anything 360 has come out with. ps3 STOMPS 360 but its not unfortunatly better than my pc. i wish i could say i didnt NEED to buy games for pc but grphically the ps3 cant handle the graphic capabilities of some pc games. it just cant. actually i play ps3 way more than my comp. but im not stupid everyone i guess accept you knows pc has way better graphic quality than anything you can play on ps3. i have killzone 2 its in my ps3 right now. and if you have it you know it mainly consists of buildings it is much harder to recreate landscape correctly on a graphics card than it is to do a building. and the reason it is a port is cause ps3 COULD NOT HANDLE THE GAME ON ITS HIGHEST GRAPHIC AND PHYSICS LEVELS.. lol fanboy.

My rig is athlon phenom x4 940,3gbram,radeon 4890. Yes it's not the best pc out there but it can take games on full. And i see you don't know what is EXCLUSIVE PS3 GAME.Far Cry 2 MULTIPLATFORM so it's ported to ps2 from xbox360. Sorry my man but you are a stupid pc fanboy if u don't get this... If you upgrade your graphics card to say...something like a 8800 GTS or something you might play this on medium or high, but with that card I doubt you can even play it on low settings with good framerates since the 7200 is not really a gaming card.

the pc can do many things that the consoles cant.. i know consoles is cheaper.. its just the choice between a pc with the cost of 1000 dollars and a ps3 for 600 dollars.. and i will sacrafice 400 bucks more for a pc :) (the price of the ps3 is different in different countrys where i live its pretty expensive cuz of high tax )

A ps3 can do everything what a pc can(now..). X360 is the console that reached it's maximum with gears 2 and that was it's limit. The PS3 have much more potetial. Killzone 2 uses only 45-50% of it's power and i think it is a great graphic game. Of course if it is 600$ where you live than yes it is too much for it. I get my PS3 last year for 299$ (80GB) :)

Who talked multiplatform games? If a game is multiplat then the ps3 gets only a port. Only ps3 exclusive games can use the ps3's power. And where are the Killzone2 or Uncharted 2 graphic games to pc? nowhere! Only Crysis is better than Killzone 2(or Uncharted 2) nothing else. You'll do really good, but I recommend you use Vista for Directx 10, it's going to be a noticeable upgrade in graphics and performance will be better since you have a dx10 card and the card will be used better...otherwise you're like wasting its potential.

v nice but ive played this game on the xbox, ordered a new pc and this is coming with it. But i would always have a sniper and some half decent explosives equipped so you could get those nice long range shots, pc's always have beaten consoles when it comes to stealth and tacticts.

that's a common misconception, maybe in the past you had to spend a lot, but now it has become more competitive, you could build a computer system that will EASILY outperform and look better than Console, for about $1,100
but only if you build it yourself, if you tried to buy a prebuilt computer for $1,100 it would just be shit, for the same system, you would have to pay more, if you buy it from a retailer.
and the really expensive ones are just bragging rights.

your not going to notice a difference in speed or appearance if you were to compare a $1,100 computer to a $5,000 computer
the ONLY thing you would notice would be an increase in frames per second, but even then you won't even detect the difference, the human eye wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 60 fps and 150 fps.
so it's just for show to say, "I can get 150 fps" they could lose like 90 fps, and not even notice it, lol
so yes you can do just fine with a $1,100 PC :-)

and also, even if PC was just $100 more than Console, people would still say stuff like "Well, console is $100 cheaper" little do they realize how much more you can really do on a PC, you have the capability, to even create entire games, do photo/audio/video editing, chatting, Internet, emailing, download music/movies/games (hehe)
mod your own games. and still be able to use a console controller if you wish.
You can do much more too, but too much to list, not enough room. lol

Of course, but if you are a true gamer you can't only have PC anyway. There are many great console games that never did, and never will make it to the PC...many!
So IF people can afford both things then it's much better.
And yeah, most PS3 and 360 games are upscaled to 1080p or make some sacrifices (specially PC ports).
But on PC you need a 30'' monitor to enjoy 2560x1600 (1600p) which costs AT LEAST $800...plus the price of a decent rig, so not everybody can't afford that...

And besides 1080p (1920x1080) looks REALLY nice and sharp, and colors look vibrant and jaggies are almost non-existent when using it.
Now, I also forgot to mention you need a really nice card to able to run say...Far Cry 2 at 2560x1600, probably $200 and up graphics card.
PC is superior and has a bucketload of games, but it's not for everybody (budget-wise).

and with PC your not limited to 1080p, like console is, PC you can go as high as 1600p, and besides most console games aren't even running at 1080p, most likely 720p
so PC, is more than double the resolution, and you can get DirectX 10 video cards.
it just makes more sense (to me) to take the money you would spend on a console, and put it towards buying a really nice $300 video card in an existing computer, this way you got a gaming rig/multipurpose PC, instead of Console, and shitty computer

I know people who spend WAY more buying a console, its expensive games and also an HDTV.
with around $1100 or so (like 1981z28camaro said) you can build a REALLY nice computer that can play all the latest games at the highest settings...and I think putting together a puzzle is harder than building a computer, it's incredibly easy, of course a PC that can play these games if you buy it, it would cost at least $1500 but usually more.

yeah and I can do so many things, not JUST the things that consoles can do. can they easily listen to 12,000+ radio stations, or download programs that contain over a million+ recipes (I like cooking) lol or listen to police scanners from around the world. Design an entire Home. and all the other things that ppl already know about.

Okay but there's one thing, though I'm a PC gamer mostly I really don't care about what else we can do with a PC, because it's obvious, it's a multi-purpose machine.
While consoles are built for gaming, so they don't NEED to do all that at all.
Hardware shouldn't be compared yes, but games should since there's a lot of consoles games that don't come out on PC.
I like Fighting games such as Mortal Kombat and Tekken, and also Japanese RPGs, and that's why I have some consoles too.

yeah, but it's the same the other way around too, there are games that don't go to the console. Command & Conquer is a big one, I hear people complain that they can't play that one on console, like my friend who has a 360...there are other games too, and you can play Super Nintendo or N64 games as well...(some ppl enjoy that)
you know, both are good, console is good, and so is PC, I just think OVERALL, PC is simply better. Matched and then Exceeded in many areas.

the only thing vista 32 bit limit's is ram to about 4 gigs and you get a bit better performance in 64 bit too, but not as much of a difference as one might expect

come on guy! Be logical! To be very honest, I was very excited about the game and bought it hours before it was unlocked on Steam but as I played it, I realized the following: it takes forever to get places, the map is confusing, the vehicles are slow, the environments feel artificial (due to all the signs and infinite vehicle ambushes). Basically, playing this game was a chore, I just wasn't having fun so I uninstalled it. Also, Crysis >>>> Far Cry 2

4870x2 costs about 400$(isn't xbox even more?).
And you can play EVERY game with 1920x1280(is xbox full HD?)
absolutely maxed No lag!.
Provided that your pc is good enough not to bottleneck your GPU.
4870x2 owns all Nvidia gfx setups.
I also need to mention that a Console's and a PC's purposes are totally different(Computer isn't all about gaming). Also the keyboard and a mouse is a HUGE advantage.

Uhm, GTX 295 has beaten the worlds best ATI HD 4870x2, It's only around €500,- if im right, but it get on alot of games alot better FPS then the HD4870x2, I admit that I'm some kind of Nvidia fan, but I don't stop anyone to buy ATI cards, ATI cards are often better and smoother at running games, but it has alot less compability then the Nvidia cards, correct me if im wrong, but I often hear ATI cards have graphic glitches & shit, and Nvidia has more software? over 95% of games in 2008 where coded to run better on Nvidia cards thats a huge buying point right there, plus nvidia cards have amazing driver support, bad point they are a lttle more expensive but they are a higher quality build so they are worth every penny more, plus the warrenties are great and usually life time or 10 years, Nvidia will stand by there products, lots of companies will even allow overclocking and water cooling, ATI usually give 1 year warrenty after that u r on your own.

Your right, I won't ever buy a ATI card, they perform good on alot of games, but I'm just having better feeling at having Nvidia stuff, like I said earlier, for the software + much more compability to run all kind of aplications, some games even have special options to fix things on ATI cards, and I think the lifespan and durability is much better, I hear alot that people their ATI cards die in a few months -.-

Console prices are ripoffs. back in New Zealand they would only cost $400 when a PS3 costs $900 when you trade 20 games! Go play your precious GTA (which has good, but simplistic gameplay unlike Crysis and FC2) and all these overrated games. Just stop complaining like a baby.

What do you mean first of all the boses suck the nuke u use in sp isnt a nuke play it again fire that tac bitch at the hunter its a lockon bullshit all it is is not a nuke, a powerful grenade launcher its tiny. 2cd, of all fps sucks on low i got the grafics card they told me to ati 2400 and it runs like shit. 3. the vehicles have dogshit 4 control i drive 4ward and BAMB into a fuckin sighn if it has good physics y cant i just smash it yep

pt 2 yup the physics were never use i did those barrel stacks all of that tornados but i never see me in them i flew by them with vtol but i never had to really see them they to me were just there. the only time u use physics wus nokin down houses but the game isnt all about that 4. multiplayer sucked thhey copyid of of cs and they give u too much health i die all the time and it takes 4eva to k,mill some1.

this game looks very great at DX10 all Ultra high and 8XAA with a very fast framerate. Im talking about the GTX 295 coming out next year.

i dont agree with one comment i saw, that this was better than crysis. this has the detail but crysis has the physics, the distructable world and the storyline. far cry 2's storyline aint that good really. if you mixed the detail of far cry 2 with the story, physics, and destructable world of crysis, the greatest game on earth will be born.lol

the price is without the screens though. screens i got for 169.99 each. i started with one on my old pc and then got another when i got my new PC about a month ago.

and my processor, AMD Phenom 8750 2.4 GHz, never goes above 40% usage, even when running crysis maxed out. i also have 2 samsung 22" HD screens. the whole gaming experience on it is incredible. NO LAG EVERRRRR. i built it for £650 in the end at its a dream computer.

now days you need a decent computer to run modern games on high spec. i got... AMD Phenom 2.4GHz, 2GB DDR2 1066 MHz RAM, NVidia 9800GT on a crossfire MOBO so i can add another if i wish, 750watt PSU, 320GB HDD, Sound Blaster 7.1 surround sound card, VISTA Home Basic 64-bit, DIRECT X 10. I can run anything thats out at the moment of full spec at 70-100 FPS(CRYSIS, maxed out), 80-100FPS(Far Cry 2, maxed out), and anything else. i never go below 60fps on anything that i play.
