When I was little (I was the youngest of four) this is what my parents had to play for me when I went to bed. My dad had several Spanish LPs from 101 Strings and the only stereo in the house was in my brothers room and it was a long hallway...So I'm afraid my music of choice infringed on the whole household..at least until I fell asleep.
I love the grandeur of this interpretation, fantastic, I can almost "see" the fiery dancer, when I was in Madrid last year I saw a popular Gypsy dancers on the "Plaza Mayor" it was awsome, that people has fire in their veins, incredible.
I have a different version of this on a record left to me by my Grandad "Around the World in Stereo with 101 Strings". on Marble Arch records. Anyone remember it? It has a picture of Apollo 11 on the front cover

@jakfak OH dude... it happened the same with my parents, and I still have the LP with it's pink cover and it was a double LP. Men, it really makes me feel like an young boy running around when I was 7 years! Good old time!!
@triplexten1 Yes, and it is much different from this. Especially after 2:00. My guess is that this recording was in a different venue from the Soul Of Spain LP. It is particularly evident at 3:25 here. Good Observation.
One of the greatest versions of Maleguena. Comes from the Soul of Spain album, all of which is extraordinary. The album cover says there were 11 "concertmeisters in the first chairs."
we would go camping as young kids and my grandpa would play this song in the trailer. i would fall right to sleep.

Correction. The version from the Soul of Spain album is about 4 minutes longer and is exquisite.
