Nice job with the picture slideshow, really brings out the theme of love in these movies. Michael Corleone has got to be one of the most tragic figures in American cinema. Stuff like Marley and Me doesn`t touch me but I shed a tear at the end of Godfather pt 2 every time and I`m not ashamed to admit it.

The score to "The Godfather", which includes this piece of music, was nominated for an Academy Award in 1973, but was disqualified after it was discovered that Nino Rota used "Speak Softly, Love" (though at a faster pace) for the 1958 comedic film "Fortunella". The score won the Oscar in 1974 for "The Godfather, Part II", and no issue was taken.

Absolutely beautiful...Nino Rota was a genius...see the majority of Federico Fellini's films' soundtrack. Genious never die, they just vanish. The film is a remarkable one, real masterpiece of the film industry. The work to reproduce a Mafia environment was fully achieved, in all ways. To prove what I say, go to Italy and visit Sicily, specially two cities: Enna and Caltanisseta; those are REAL Mafia cities, even today ! - JAL
