Saddam never faced trial for using gas against the Kurds. The Americans made sure he was executed before that trial could take place. It would have been a bit difficult for them explaining why they did nothing at the time and only decided to make a song and dance out of it when it suited them.

Well considering the world is in a state of globalization and our economies are becoming less and less sovereign, the whole basis of Iraq being for oil has validity to it and also is a justifiable reason to go to war.
