Her weapon was still with her when as prisoner, she was executed.

I don't know anymore if color has anything to with the justice, or lack of, when it comes to rape. There still is such a stigma for the woman, and a sense of entitlement for the man. We raise our kids to feel superior (nationalism), then are shocked when they act that way.

See recent NPR article about "revelations" of rape by German women by Russians. We are shocked and appalled but it's been around for thousands of years. Sadly, I see no end in site.

When I first came across this story I was utterly shocked and appalled about what happened. This was a US soldier, over in another country serving and protecting us, willing to give her life to fight for the country that she loved. Just to have a comment posted by jrjblue a citizen I may add, in the country that she was helping to fight for in Iraq. How sad. Rape is something that is horrific and shameful whether it is a female or male of any race in any country it is intolerable.
