" O Danny Boy!... Not you Danny!"

    ( A minute later)

  • Lovely, great effort for someone playing 5 years..........that is really amazing.

  • what key is this version of londonderry air in?

  • Beautiful.....tear in my eye........

  • AMAZING!!! It's just that your sound was sometimes a bit rough and accented at your frog, but not on purpose. Other than that, YOU WERE GREAT!!!

  • Where did you find your music for this piece? I want to play this, but I can't find a version I like. This arrangement is one that I do like. If you could tell me where you found it, that would be awesome! :D

  • Always loved the violin, this is a tune that deserves to be played on the violin. Sweet! The playing brings out all the expressions of the song.

  • A good vibrato requires strong fingers, extremely strong fingers. To achieve a good vibrato, rock finger on each string, very slowly, nearly 180 degree oscillations, until the fingers are extremely tired. Gradually two fingers down on same string. Do this exercise once a day. The amount of time spend on this exercise will increase as the fingers become stronger. Strong fingers also produce rapid and powerful trills as well as clean sound. Hope I have made a contribution.

  • Beautifully played!!! I've been trying to play this but I cannot get it right. Is there a place to find the tabs for this? Looking forward to other posts. Have a great day. John

  • this is the only violin piece that has ever made me cry :') it's so beautifully played and there's no other word for it <3 keep playng you wonderful, talented woman :')

  • Very nicely done...However, as an experienced Irish musician on whistle, flute, bodhran-

(I have just taken up fiddle 1 mo ago- playing this) I feel compelled to issue a correction. Danny Boy is NOT an Irish tune. It is ENGLISH, written by Frederick Weatherby, a soliciter and musician, and set to a tune that his sister heard miners singing in America- "the Derry Air" which is Irish in origin. I agree that it sounds rushed and aggressive. I like your use of full bow though! Too much reverb.

  • Wow I love it! Thank you very much for playing this lovely piece =D By the way, what kind of violin/fiddle are you playing? I play the violin too but not very good yet and am looking for a new, better sounds one. Hope to hear back from you ^_^

  • It's ok, but you sound like ur rushing the notes that are supposed to be held out. Nice job, I give it a 7/10

  • Too aggressive, it feels like your attacking the fiddle.

  • pretty!

  • Really beautifull and great interpretation :)

  • Where do you get your violin music sheets? (x

  • that was beautiful. this is my 6th year playin the violin n i hope someday to sound like that. good job.

  • You made a fuck - up on the title . It should say the" Derry Air "

  • @meltogue omeffgee i see your comment on almost every one of these videos and no it it londonderry air. i have the sheet music in front of me right now for viola. will you effing quit with it,

  • @Jasminee2796 Sorry to upset you jasminee, Its a nice air and well played here, but its an old irish air is my point. just because its on your sheet music as l.Derry does not make it a fact. Irish people just call it Derry Air.

Keep effing with the viola anyway! I play viola , violin and banjo myself.

  • Simply amazing !

    Loved it.

  • ...

  • I am a violinist too, and i play along with you! (Btw i am 11)

  • Perfect. Pure Perfection.

  • very nicely done liana. This was the first song i learned on the violin and Francescotti was the first violinst i heard perform it. your tone is lovely and your bowing very smooth. whats your fiddle. goodluck.

  • Magnifique

  • ur awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just learned to play this song on the piano and im trieing to get the notes for the violin because im going on 3 years but i sound horrible compared to you!!! :)

  • Amazing! I love this tune, and you played it awesome! Do you have another way to communicate? I mean... facebook, twitter.... Congratulations!

  • That was great! I just started learning this song at my lesson yesterday.I'm going on 2 years and I don't sound nothing like that! I envy you!

  • This is my favorite Danny Boy violin rendition.

    * Watch her bow stroke. No wimpy dwelling on the middle 2cm for her. She works it from frog to tip, with her eyes closed.

    * The presentation is sparse, but not stark. Elegant. Black background, Black gown, no jewelry. The focus is on the music and the violin. Not the artist.

    * I could care less that the artist's hair is not pulled back or more elaborately coiffed. This is a real person playing a heartfelt Danny Boy for us.

  • @brokenbathr Actually, it's quite easy to play from frog to tip with your eyes closed, you just need to get used to your violin and bow.

  • wow i love danny boy!

    You play it awesome!

  • Thank you very much! :D

  • @ViolinolistLiana das ist richtig klasse, wunderschön

  • i like your version learning it by ear..

  • I've been playing the violin for 5 years now. :-)

  • hey cuz.... wow that was amizing i never knew you could play something so beautiful :o) *hugz*

  • Aww, thank you! :D

  • Beautifully played, Liana! Well done.
