Some things can be done by the pet owner and others should be left to the veterinarian. Discuss these things with your veterinarian. A good one will instruct you in what you can do yourself. Correct diagnosis is essential.

I just put Pedialyte in my cat's water bowl and she drank it. Pedialyte is supposedly flavorless, looks like water, and has electrolytes. I realize it's a lot more expensive than Gatorade, but there are probably generic brands and I really wonder if sugary water with lots of food coloring is good for a pet. Hope she's doing well though.

The cat was obviously not drinking water. The veterinarian said to give it gatorade.  We always consult our veterinarian before giving anything to our pets. After antibiotics and the recommended gatorade, she did very well.

Gatorade and cat's like berry. Cat's don't like malt or gatorade. I found that out the easy way. lol.
