Especially with Afro-Cuban grooves, there is a lot of room for interpretation and different kind of swing feels. Listen to Antonio Sanchez and Horacio both play, for example. I bet if you put them both to a click in the same room and told them to play a jazz mambo, they'd play it a little differently. Maybe James and Alessandro just hear the swing a little differently, and that's what you're interpreting as a lack of precision.

You should work on doing precise hits first, unison with the metronome, and then doing the same stuff unison with each other.

You can hear a lot of flams, this sounds bad.

yes, I know, I want to buy a Tama drum kit, but in my country only sell the Swingstar and Imperialstar models, and are very expensive, so I had to buy a Maxtone drum kit :(
