I like your blog but I think some of the travel U did was not travel but rather 5 star luxury tourist stuff. The Peru trip is one example: $800 per night hotel at Machu Pichu with their $30 buffet lunch!? In Peru? That's not cheap by American standards. Your girlfriend said it was sooo cheap!
