@revtonynewnham, I don't see how you get the idea that I built this. I just uploaded the video my friend made (and even the instrument pictured in the video is not correct).
This is a wonderful instrument and the first time I have heard one. I want one too so will build it myself as I have with other instruments one cant buy. I found that building instruments allows one to appreciate them all the more. Building musical instruments yourself is quite easy but does require planning and patience.
@fnersch, I agree totally. With that kind of thinking I must say you truly are a connoisseur. I only wish I had the knowledge and the resources to build my own instruments as I can't afford anything at this stage.
Sorry, I beg your pardon but the first piece before "Ballo del Granduca" by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, is "Aria detta la Frescobalda " from the second book of toccatas, Canzoni etc... (1637) by Girolamo Frescobaldi.
WOW! I want one. I love harpsichord. I prefer certain piece played on a piano, but, for example, the Bach Prelude in F Major from WTC I is spectacular on the harpsichord. But for the moment, I can play WTC only on my piano...
To me, any and all Baroque keyboard works sound magnificent on the instruments they were composed for, but to play Bach on a piano works as well. I'm not closed minded about any of that. But a Claviorganum is one of the many crowning examples of Baroque musical ingenuity. It offers so many new possibilities. Try playing Scarlatti on one of these, and it will be pure ecstasy. I also want one, but for now I need to get a Harpsichord first. There's one I have my eye on now, but it's tricky! ;-))
Did you source a set of plans or design it yourself? How many courses of strings and organ stops?
Every Blessing
Tony

@SkpD1991, maybe if you listen to the whole video you'll hear the organ playing too. The claviorganum is a harpsichord and a small organ combined.

@dperroni, I don't think so. Not like a normal organ does anyway, if anything I'd expect to find the typical stops that you usually do on a cembalo.
