OMG! Viscious kitteh! Get Conan a playmate RIGHT NOW while he's still young. Two kitties don't cost more and are infinitely healthier and happier because they don't get bored. But they MUST be raised together to learn to play together. Lots of kitteh love to you and Conan!!

Actually, thats bullshit. Cats aren't pack animals. If several cats are introduced to one household, they face all sorts of difficulties because they have to divide the house between them into different territories because they don't like to coexist. Getting more than three cats is a disaster - cats are unable to divide a territory like that into more than three, and you'll have cats peeing everywhere. Sure they can play together as you like, but in reality they're loners.

Cats aren't pack animals? I've had 13 cats in an apartment for a few months. no problem at all. you'll be amazed by how friendly a well grown cat can be to new born kittens. Sometimes more so than the birth mother

just how humans have personalities, animals have too. There are a few cats I've had who didn't liked to be touched by humans nor cats. And others who can't live without a certain cat/human

Are these 13 cats related? coz if they are, they'll get along good but after a while, the mother may push the kittens away (Thats if the cats are related) and start hissing at her kittens, I know because thats what my cat does to her 7 month old daughter, but hopefully she'll stop doing it eventually.

half of them were related. others were not and random breeds. siamese, american mainecoon. there was maybe an instance of the mother being distant to the kittens but then another female cat started taking care of the newborns

though the 13-cats owning period was very short though. ~ 3 months

Aw, it's a shame if you've never raised kittens together. They don't pee all over if they're raised together. They pretty much see themselves as one entity and become very dependent upon each other for affection and play. Lions/tiger/panthers and housecats are all pack animals. Two is more fun than one.
