The lyrics here is wonderful and can never be matched. The meaning is so deep and moving that westerners can never fully understand. How can you ever translate 舐犢情深? It is uniquely Chinese. @lapinskicho-Thank you for your response. Anyway the Koreans are quite creative in their TV series which popularise their songs. Most Asians can't understand Korean. So this phemenon cannot be long. I do not agree that Cantonese pop songs are at their sunset. More and more HK resident can understand Mandarin because of change of education policy & probably more listen to Mandarin songs. Well, whoever is more creative in music, deserve his popularity.

Sam Hui appeared in the arena of music in the middle of 1970s. In Malaysia, before his apperance, we all liked to listen to Mandarin songs from Taiwan and Hong Kong. Sam Hui's appearance changed the scene and Malaysians begin to listen to Cantonese songs. Later, many Cantonese singers from Hong Kong also make their inroad into the Malaysian market. We can say that Sam Hui was the pioneer of Cantonese songs for Hong Kong as well as overseas Chinese.
