I haven't heard any of Norma Jean's stuff before this album but I love this album. I hear their old stuff is totally different though so should I still listen to it or just stick to the new shit?
If you like a heavier more complicated sound, basically a lot of subtle and not so subtle elements all blending all at once and like screams then yeah. Personally I my favorite is Bless The Martyr and Kiss The Child, but this is a good album too but I prefer the latter. I say its worth your time to take a listen to the older stuff, you might just enjoy it.

I was skeptical when I bought the Antimother CD, but I'm really glad I did. Norma Jean is totally growing and evolving as a band. And after all, is that what all bands strive to do?
Josh Scogin was good, but Cory is AMAZING. I can't say I'm sad for the split. I think both Norma Jean and The Chariot are doing exactly what it is they were meant to do.

I have to agree with somberamarath, I prefer their album bless the martyr and kiss the child more. The thing is that their new stuff is so different that you really cant compare the two and say one is better than the other. But thats just my opinion

I haven't heard any of Norma Jean's stuff before this album but I love this album. I hear their old stuff is totally different though so should I still listen to it or just stick to the new shit?

If you like a heavier more complicated sound, basically a lot of subtle and not so subtle elements all blending all at once and like screams then yeah. Personally I my favorite is Bless The Martyr and Kiss The Child, but this is a good album too but I prefer the latter. I say its worth your time to take a listen to the older stuff, you might just enjoy it.

I was skeptical when I bought the Antimother CD, but I'm really glad I did. Norma Jean is totally growing and evolving as a band. And after all, is that what all bands strive to do?
Josh Scogin was good, but Cory is AMAZING. I can't say I'm sad for the split. I think both Norma Jean and The Chariot are doing exactly what it is they were meant to do.
