this song is so beautiful...I am hearing this for the first time..and what better folks to sing it than the GVB...God bless u Hoover for posting this!!
what better folks to sing it... try the original with James Taylor and Ricky Skaggs. They do some close harmony that gives be goose bumps and shivers my spine.
I love GVB, but in this case (MHO) the original is the best.
I really like this video. I thought that Ricky and James did the song proud when they did this, but I think these guys sang this even better. Much prettier singing here technically on the solo parts. Smooth harmonies and extraordinary blend on this recording is 5 stars imo.
I'm not a big southern gospel fan, but I was searching for Jonathan Pierce stuff and came across your Gather vids. (I love me some Jonathan Pierce...he can SING.)
I've been trying to find out info on Jonathan for a while, but it seems like he's fallen off the face of the earth. (In other words, my Googling has come up pretty empty.) Does he still sing with the Gathers any? Does he still have a solo record deal, and is he planning to record again? Does anybody know? :)

Hi all,
This song was written by John Hall and is from the band ORLEANS. He is now Congressman Hall 19th district NY.

That song got to me. Where is Johnathon Pierce now? I'm new to the Gaither scene...

Ricky Skaggs is the orig. author...and I believe James Taylor may also get 'co-author credits' as well but not sure...

I don't think JT got songwriting credits on this. just a guest vocal.
