@1977ALea, In the beginning, my ex's Yorkie could not navigate the stairs either on her own because she was afraid of them. That is understandable for such a tiny creature. But, with trust, patience, love and desire I was able to teach her how to navigate the stairs better than any dog I have ever seen. In fact, that Yorkie ended up climbing the cat perch on her own. She can get up on it and off of it without issue. Yorkies are so smart and learn very quickly. @efbeck, Candi is gorgeous t/y! :)

I also have a miniature yorkie who is perfectly healthy and happy, and i find most of the time its people just being jealous that write nasty comments like that when they have no idea how u look after your dog. There are so many people out there who neglect their pets!! And Candi looks to have a perfectly clean and happy home and be in good health, she is adorable!! Get over it!

i think people dont realize 1977s view. He probably dislikes Teacup yorkies because how they are created. I do not believe from looking at this video that the dog Candi is a typical Teacup yorkie. to get the teacup size, the puppies are starved to lock in growth. the dogs usually have health problems etc. they dont live long either. This dog Candi, Looks very healthy, Happy and is 9 years old +. In my opinion its is not a teacup.

Ya know, I don't understand some of these comments about your yorkie. People are very uneducated. My Ginger was black and sable when she was young as well. The silver is a natural aging trait. It doesn't make them any less attractive. Ginger seemed to keep her black for quite a while, but as she entered her senior years, the silver really came out. Beautiful yorkie you have. i wonder... if someone doesn't register their dog with akc, do they have to follow their standard? And at the end, AKC will follow the majority of their consumers. If everyone wants shorter snouts, you will get it in the future. If everyone wants undocked tails, you will get it in the future. Look at the dog from the last 75 years, they slowly change over time to fit the consumer wants.

I think for the most part they are, but toy might be in the 5-8 lb range where teacup is usually under 3. But then you have the hardcore Yorkie lovers who will tell you that there is no such thing as a teacup. To that I say: Try fitting a big one in a teacup and tell me how that works out.

Candi is almost 8 years old and when she was younger she was tan and black. As she aged she got the beautiful silver/tan color. She still has some black, but not as much. I guess you can't tell what color they will be when they get older. Just like us humans.
