I did! Unfortunately it wasn't until this past December, December 7th actually! I did it though, and I feel so good having done it. I hate that it took me so long and I want you all to know that YOU can do it too. I smoked for 26 years and the nicotine withdrawals have been rough but the doc doubled my antidepressant so that helped a lot. I do eat a lot of tic tacs and have gained 10 pounds since I quit. Don't mistake though, I have made some diet changes.
Just letting you know that you are NOT alone. I was told I have COPD in Dec of 08. I myself am trying to quit the cigs, and it's hard to do. Im not sure as of yet how bad it is I just know It's hard to breath. I too will be posting videos on here in hopes to help others.
How did you do on your quit Rosey? I pray you succeeded! I'm trying AGAIN! I start my Chantix *AGAIN* on April 3, 2009. I'm actually READY to quit this time and that's a big thing in being successful so I am told.
Hi Stormy. I haven't had very good luck with my quit. Because of my mood disorder, the Chantix had very bad side effects on me, like irritability and a very bad temper. For those who read this, please discuss Chantix with your doctor if you suffer from depression or another mood disorder.
bless your heart. I hpe you manage to quit for good and your quality of life dramatically improves. It is awesome that you come on here and are so brave to give this message to so many smokers. You saved some lives today.
I don't smoke anymore although I did smoke on and off for around 10 yrs. your so right it's hell to stop! this last time took me 2yrs to kick the habit. I'm 42yrs old. I've now had a cough for the last 2 weeks and I'm not breathing to good. It don't feel right.
I wish you lots of strength and pray that you quit. I am so sorry to hear of your breathing problems. You should see a Pulmonologist and have a PFT done to check your lung capacity. I wish you the best and will keep you in my prayers,
I am sorry to hear about your condition. I was a smoker for 20 yrs. and was able to quit
I asked God to help me and he did. Because it was a miracle for me to quit because I was a heavy smoker. I'm also have bipolar and I take my meds every day I am doing pretty well
I can just imagine how you feel but just think smoking tends to give cancer of the lungs I have lost a couple of relatives and friends from lung cancer they did not make it.
I hope you manage quitting , quitting is good but if you've smoked a long time it probably won't help you ...I have no trouble staying quit and I quit one year ago cold turkey and no help from any stop smokng drug but I did have a heart attack and like you I am in my 40s the heart attackwas fine and i'm doing okay in that aspect but I now have emphysema . quitting won't stop lung cancer or emphysema .I wish you strength and will power to quit .
you are very brave and magnificent woman and I wish you a happy and fulfilled futue! x

Check out Allen Carr on youtube...once you educate yourself on the nature of nicotine addiction, you will be better prepared to beat it.

Thank you for your kindness. My only hope is that it helps someone else to quit before it gets as far as this. Best wishes.
