If we have mercenaries, why arent they a bit more "professional" with their "objectives". Its easy to sit and shoot at targets. Why dont they go on the "offensive" side of things, and actually "go hunt" the enemy. I know you can rip apart my questions, but why havent we captured or killed Bin Laden yet like a group of "true" mercenaries would/could.

I have no problem with mercenary forces, so long as they are regulated and held accountable for their actions. Mercenary forces have done great good in the world and have the potential to continue to do good but regulation must be imposed. We must not allow the freedom we fight for to be endangered by our methods of warfare.

Swampfoxes2 is partially right about wages, it depends what contractor you are working for and what the assignment is, and no they are not free to do "w/e" it takes to complete the assignment. There are still ROE and RUF (Use of Force Rules) that contractors must abide by. ROEs and RUFs are dependent on the operation and objective.
The love of money comment is very prejudice. It's like saying surgeons only care about money, otherwise they would perform an operation for free.

You can join Blackwatr by Having special forces training or at least Marine combat training/ security/ ect. It does help if you know someone in Blackwater like me.If they dont except your resume then join another securiy firm like Cochise,Armor group,Eodt.and Alpha Point just to name a few.

But when conflicts end, what else is their for mercenaries to do. They aren't looked after when there are no conflicts and obviously thrive on war, so they must bring their "peace" to home. Better yet, I'm guessing they aren't even fighting with the interest of the US in mind. You can outsource logistics but you shouldn't outsource your fighting force.
