If you read the redemption comics it explains all of what Liara was trying to do it was her who recovered Shepards body from the shadow broker who was selling it to the collectors. She was working with a Drell who was working with cerberus as a double agent who worked with the shadow broker who got left behind which she mentions in ME 2.

@Arppis about the reapers fixing the other reaper is not possible because the reapers are outside the milkiway it will take them years to get back into the milkiyway i think...there for the only way reapers can do anything is by the help of the collectors
@noctrnlemishun Bioware is a very talented developer. They are working on DLC and ME3 simultaneously. The DLC serves as a bridge between ME2 and ME3. Whether or not they will be able to answer every question posed by players is uncertain. It would be nice. But it is not certain. I am sure they will be able to effectively use the DLC to close the story when ME3 comes out. They make the DLC for 2 reasons. 1)Money 2)SO everything makes sense

I thought that the Broker would be a reaper agent, so would be a past shadow broker in past goverments, who would gradually and slowly take apart a goverment behind the scenes if the initial attack failed. A fall back, stemming from he fact it was an AI that knew all.

@Kroche929 If the Shadow Broker is the Illusive Man, why would Cerberus give Shepard infomation of his whereabouts (0:00-0:05). Since the Shadow Broker was trying to sell Shepards body to the Collector's wouldn't that basically ruin his plan about using Shepard to destroy the Collectors and deliver their base to him, intact.
@Evillordc That information is something you hear based off of what someone said in the game. It doesn't necessarily mean that The Shadow Broker did try to sell you off to the collectors. No information like that was ever set as a fact and could be used by Bioware as one of their signature plot twists.

Why would the Illusive Man deliberately give his enemies "Shepard's corpse"? He might be shifty, but his goal is to further humanity's place in the galaxy, not destroy it.

The Liara-SB story has been greatly expanded and revised, and it looks like BW's original intention and reason for Liara not joining the squad was that she was going to look through the SB's data to HELP YOU. Try to give you information about the Collectors.

If you read the redemption comics it explains all of what Liara was trying to do it was her who recovered Shepards body from the shadow broker who was selling it to the collectors. She was working with a Drell who was working with cerberus as a double agent who worked with the shadow broker who got left behind which she mentions in ME 2.

@Arppis well they sad.. a link between ME2 and ME3 will be told in an upcoming DLC....now idono who are they but thats what i read....anyway i dont think we going to have shadow broker in ME3 instead we will have a DLC that will tell us the shadow broker story...1 thing im pretty sure is that we are going to be able to visit earth and land this time! and i think earth will have a major role in ME3 i think

Hmm, you know that might be Protheans killing the reaper. Ofcourse I am not 100% sure of it, but would think so. The Reapers might have repaired the Reaper on the last run to the galaxy.

@Arppis dont think its possible because over the generation the reapers brainwashed and genetically re programed the collectors to do things for the reapers! though maybe the collectors have some mind left since in the vid laria says they were after shaperd they wanted to study sheperd because he was exposed to the Protheans becone..meaning maybe the collectors were trying to find a way to break away from the reapers.....

@noctrnlemishun Bioware is a very talented developer. They are working on DLC and ME3 simultaneously. The DLC serves as a bridge between ME2 and ME3. Whether or not they will be able to answer every question posed by players is uncertain. It would be nice. But it is not certain. I am sure they will be able to effectively use the DLC to close the story when ME3 comes out. They make the DLC for 2 reasons. 1)Money 2)SO everything makes sense

I thought that the Broker would be a reaper agent, so would be a past shadow broker in past goverments, who would gradually and slowly take apart a goverment behind the scenes if the initial attack failed. A fall back, stemming from he fact it was an AI that knew all.

Maybe there will be DLC...Or maybe these are simply deleted files of a quest that was alrdy ingame when they made it but decided that Shadow Broker is too importan quest line to simply put it in less than an hour quest mission.One thing is certain here, Liara is not new companionion because she is on comming with you.We cant know for sure but Bioware announced to share secrets about some upcomming DLC this week.Cant wait to check it out :)

I bet they came up with different ways to use the Shadow Broker, like making you find out that he's the Illusive Man in ME3, so they scrapped this idea. Oh, I really hope they tie him in like that in the final game!

@Kroche929 If the Shadow Broker is the Illusive Man, why would Cerberus give Shepard infomation of his whereabouts (0:00-0:05). Since the Shadow Broker was trying to sell Shepards body to the Collector's wouldn't that basically ruin his plan about using Shepard to destroy the Collectors and deliver their base to him, intact.

@Evillordc That information is something you hear based off of what someone said in the game. It doesn't necessarily mean that The Shadow Broker did try to sell you off to the collectors. No information like that was ever set as a fact and could be used by Bioware as one of their signature plot twists.

@Kroche929 Yet in the third Issue of Mass Effect Redemption when Liara speaks with The Shadow Broker he openly admits that he tried to sell the body to the collectors. "Yes, I know who you are and what you want. I have nothing personal against Shepard or any of Shepard's friends. It was just sound business ". Why would the Illusive Man deliberately give his enemies "Shepard's corpse"? He might be shifty, but his goal is to further humanity's place in the galaxy, not destroy it.

Oh fuck... 1:12 made my nose bleed out of sheer awe. Why in the FUCK would the Collectors kill Shepard if they want to experiment on his/her body? Don't even start with "well so he couldn't fight back". The whole reason they didn't kill the colonists before their experimentation was because it would ruin the whole fucking point! (Not gonna spoil the ending)

The Liara-SB story has been greatly expanded and revised, and it looks like BW's original intention and reason for Liara not joining the squad was that she was going to look through the SB's data to HELP YOU. Try to give you information about the Collectors.
