Loved it as a kid and love it now. Glad you can find it here. George Reeves was such a handsome man. I think he actually had a part in Gone With The Wind.
@poolboyinla yes it was the only thing was the aweful noel neill in which i couldnt stand phyllis coates was the best lois lane ever its a shame she didnt do another season and the color seasons were the worst they should be burned
@bobszvetics1 Phyllis Coates was kind of a bitch, but she was pretty hot. I can't hate on Noel because she has really embraced the role and done a lot with it even to today.
@poolboyinla george was planning to do a movies(ci-fi) with her (PHyllis)after the 59"series which didnt eventuate -he was also to be married and honeymoon in mexico and do a visitation down south to australia where the show was huge hit..the importance is the cast and crew remained friends till the end--noel neill still misses george very much today-as if were yesterday 52 years ago
@bobszvetics1 During the 50's and 60's, Coates also appeared in a number of classic television series including Gunsmoke, Perry Mason, The Untouchables, The Virginian, Lone Ranger, The Cisco Kid and The Patty Duke Show-Coates has been reluctant to do interviews concerning the series or George Reeves, and has appeared at only a few conventions or signings. She presently lives in California, she was very pretty though-her famous line was--i'm a big girl clarke ,i can take care of myself.
@bobszvetics1 -dont know about that jealous story--i suppose its a possibility-who knows-but phyllis was never in the joe mcdoake shorts--i know the woman in question--she was very pretty too-somehow they never mentioned her in the credits--certainly a nagging type--not bitchy-the joe mcdoakes series were very well made--always behind the giant 8 ball at the end--meaning--he could never win....
@simonmoves your wrong she was in many mcdoake shorts she was married to richard bare who directed them im watching one right now on the white heat dvd so you think your not guilty
@simonmoves your welcome they have all the mcdoak shorts on dvd in which i plan to buy soon they were great and your right i saw phyllis in a untouchables show the frank niti story
@bobszvetics1 who are the distrubuters--i dont think anyone can post them here before they are yanked off for copyright infringement--i know they show it on tcm sometimes--they are worth seeing--they were very well made-shows 40/50 era in the usa--isnt it amazing how the old superman show from 51--a 60year old show--is still copyrighted on yt from being uploaded--a lot of folks have uploaded some episodes only to be copyrighted by warners--its not yt -they are only the obeying instructions-
@bobszvetics1 i notice it here on yt-there is very little of it-means that anyone uploading, eventually will be copyrighted, especially anything from warners, there are dozens of sites going down because of infringements-warners are so protective of the past material-because-they are producing all these new garbage shows these days- they dont want the old stuff competing with the new-otherwise the young crowd will wake up to it and say-that was better that anything today-that what its all about
@simonmoves Yes my friend everything today is crap in films and tv shows thank god for someone in a video company who came up with bright idea of puting classic tv series on dvd im 58 years old and i love my tv dvds im sorry my mom and dad cant enjoy them they passed on thanks for talking to me take care bob
@bobszvetics1 when they got rid of the studio system where folks learnt there craft 24/7-that was the day of the decline in what your saying--now its anybody they want to promote--the stories mean nothing-its all been done before-and seen before--they re-do movies from the past and absolutely ruin them--they are only good at special fx-cgi--but poor on storylines / acting--look what the did to the daytheearthstoodstill 51-the 2008 was a disaster--avatar--pure garbage--rather watch bugs bunny
@bobszvetics1 now you know why they want to shun and hide the retro stuff so there is no comparison--no wake-up-call-on the youth discovering these shows again-and even if you buy the dvds--theres a lot thats been cut out/edited--creepy industry--before yt-a lot of the archive and retro stuff here were locked away and never to be seen--in one way-we have to thanks yt & the uploading material-as hundred lose there site everyday-theres hundreds more who upload it again u have to check daily.
I grew up on this show running around the house with a towel wrapped around my neck. This clip is so cool because, I don't know if in these early days of the TV era, the main character of the show ever spoke to the audience in a way that only they were in on the
secret joke, wen Clark says he flew we all felt we were privy to this great big secret ;:-)
@tubemember004 I think they're just sitting on it, in case they might want to make money of it some time in the future. Thanks to Disney having lot's of politicians in their pockets, copyright nowadays is nearly eternal. It means that a lot of stuff is just rotting in archives, which otherwise could have been enjoyed and preserved.
Especially in this digital age, I think that we'll find that in 50 years, there will hardly be anything left of the current era.
@rogerwilco2 you can see it on hula i think-i know they had there for the USA RESIDENCE only--if you hunt around--you can get them from the web/net - they are worth seeing again--slightly corny-some of the dialogue is still fresh and some dated but witty and funny----worth the dvds if you must have it...it is a pity though-that we cant see it here-superman is a franchise and dist-(wb).want to keep the old show out of view -so the new stuff on superman sells..thats the only reason
A great moment from early in the series. I loved it as a kid, and I still love it as an "adult".
