  • chris needs a better more experienced band, and not those young emotionless kids

  • Comment removed

  • when was it recorded?

  • that's not the same. no mood/

  • haha I love how Chris Cornell's voice can fucking silence the actual musical instruments. Simply amazing/otherworldly.

  • fuckin awesome, this is how music should be. straight raw live recording. doesent get much better.

  • Chris- you UN- FILL - MY - CUP!

  • shit he doesnt even look 46

  • I recently just fell in love with this song!

  • @MissusFingerBottom btw hane you ever tried to hit that high note lol hungraaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaay. great way to destroy your voice.

  • one of the greatest

  • Ok he can't hit the notes he could back in the 90's but he's 46 people voices change when they get older, he's still a great singer I personally think the raspy voice sounds cool

  • The man.

  • Comment removed

  • Cant believe people knock his voice! Christ it was originally recorded 19 years ago! Peoples voices change! Not many could sing it better! Classic song by a GREAT singer. End of.

  • Love Chris's voice. Soothing.

  • This is incredible.

  • hungeeeeeeeeeeer!!!!!!!!!yeah

  • Cornell is still the baddest mofo downlo mutha fucca to ever walk the face of earth..Listen to the words man fuc the notes

  • Chris Cornell is one of the biggest music icons of the 90's till now no body can anything bad about his voice!!!!

  • chis cornell rocks i wish soundgarden would cover this song

  • I'd pay money to hear Chris Cornell sing the phone book...

  • I saw these cowboys in the early 90's in Brissy, and I can honestly say that Cornell has not lost anything.....can't lose much with a vocal range like that!

  • yeah I agree, I have seen this cowboy in Brissy in the mid 90's with soundgarden and I can tell u now his voice is as good as ever. Go cornell

  • all the guys from dominican republic. we remenber this song from the 90s .thanks chris cornell for give to us your voice.

  • the only bad thing about this performance is thar Eddie is not there

  • He's getting old. His voice doesn't quite have that tone it used to. Still an awesome performance though! Layne Staley's dead so Chris has the best voice in rock now i think.

  • @CJBroesky look up "Pearl jam with Chris cornell 2010" His voice is much better now.

  • where's Eddie.

  • the best .. chris simply rocks!!!

  • Oh shit!! Where are the Pearl Fuckin' Jam?

There's no feeling in this performance...

  • chris aint doin too bad, drums lack propultion tho, but thats prolly because the origial recording had reverb on the drums

  • love this guy but BEST EVER? anyone heard of LAYNE STALEY! thank you!

  • @jgatorful I agree. Cornell is amazing but Layne Staley was to rock singers as Michael Jordon was to basketball players imo.

  • perfectly said my friend!

  • do you know how high chris can go!!? go watch the video of chris cornell on my channell!

  • @jgatorful

you underestimate Chris Cornell, he is possibly one of the best vocalists ever.

  • didnt chris cornell have a throat surgery or something? it still sound sgreat, but he seems to have trouble pushing out the high notes.

  • He's getting old man

  • omg he looks so young here

  • dont be so judgemental guys....just let the music talk for itself.

  • amazing vocal range

  • this sounds fucking awsome.

  • Awesome performance

  • Sorry, this doesn't sound good.

  • this muthafucka is the man... not many are better than him

  • He's fucking flat in the chorus. It's sad

  • @politburo1 i challenge you to sing that song.. then tell me hes flat. you people bitch but honestly have no idea what it takes to sing songs like this..

  • 1 chris dont care chris 2 eddie 2 plant too 3 mercury 4 bono and there are a lot more awesome singers but i like them the best

  • Agreed

  • except about the Plant part. he's #2.

  • eddie and plant before mercury. no way. and bono wouldnt be in the top 50. where bellamy? or thom yorke?

  • @Foofighters4eva1991 i dont lke thom yore personally andican get of with mercury beore eddie but not before plant

  • Wow, he really still does have it, doesn't he

  • The drummer's work on this version is better. Kudos to the drummer.

  • Dam, Cornell is a bad man lol Wow!

  • Chris Cornell blows Chester out of the water. Eddie is the man though

  • This song reminds me of times that i thought were difficult, but i miss them :(

  • I know what you mean.

  • it's missing eddie come on

  • Sin Eddie no es lo mismo!

Without Eddie, it's not the same!

  • Chester Bennington who?

  • to think he was their drummer to start....when did he let the cat out of the bag that he was all lungs????

  • i have to say eddie vedder has to be in there some where he is 1 of the best vocalist of all time

  • chester bennington before chris cornell? you're a fuckin idiot....linkin park sucks and so does chester

  • I concur!

  • You're nuts! You put chester pennginfuck from Linkin Park with these guys???? Obviously you know great vocalists by looking at the rest of your list....I'm assuming you're looking for comments when posting that crap......you just put a box of wine among the finest bordeux of France.....wow!

  • Great tribute to Andy Wood. Real pain that people pass away so earlly

  • nice and raw! he only just hits the high notes sometimes but i love it. Sounds awesome when you know hes trying

  • Nah. He sings just fine. A lot of singers can't/won't hit the high notes with constant touring etc. But for an album they'll do it right.

I submit, Robert Plant, and Freddie Mercury as evidence.

  • do you notice that he doesn't sing with as much power in this version as the totg (Temple Of The Dog) version

  • They also both sang and screamed wrong. Chris although it may sound like he's working hard is singing and screaming safely on his voice.

  • @spinningthirdeye Law Student????

  • @spinningthirdeye those two men you submitted is all the argument you need

  • The greatest singer in the world sad to hear that his voice got strained you can even hear it when he sings going hungryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

but if he can still sing like that than he has to be like i said the greatest singer in the world today not Soulja Boy not T Pain not Jay z but from Seattle Washington the one and only CHRIS CORNELL

  • ya know this reminds me of when i was 13 and i got out of the house and went to a party got back at 530 and the sun was coming up. i turned up the radio and this song played. i got caught! lol

  • damnit... i was a little let down that he didnt hit that high note, kinda just swept it under the rug. oh chris.. i still love you though

  • Cornell's the best. Scream just show's his versatility. My 9 year old want's to hear it every time we're in the car. Not Hanna Montana, not Jonas Brothers. He want's to hear Chris Cornell! Scream reaches across generations... thank god for me:)

  • yer kid rocks!!!!!! and so do you for getting him into cornell, keep on rockin

  • linkin park isnt gay u fucking twit!! they just made a bad decision like chris here with that tmbaland album, everyone makes mistakes, if i recall chris cornell asked chester bennington to sing this song with him, and did an AWSOME FUCKING JOB!! u ignorant fuck.

  • Linkin Park is gay Dont mention another band on this or any other video rather than that band"s video

  • i still remember the hunger strike video.chris with long hair and a stash...compared to now he look so clean cut.

    soundgarden will always be missed

  • those high notes sounded better when he was young. those low notes sounded better when they came from eddie. but he could never play this song badly :)

  • He doesn't even reach for the highest note (around 3:30) ... but this is still a pretty awesome rendition of the song. Cornell will always be a musical legend, even if the "Timbaland years" will come back to haunt him some day ... Kind of like George Clooney's stint in Batman ... just a bad, bad, bad idea.

  • Yeah his voice got too strained by the year 1997. He'll never be able to hit those notes ever again, sadly. But considering he was able to do that every night for a whole decade ('87-'97) that's pretty impressive.

  • The best rock singer ever!

  • Still sounds pretty f**kin good to me after all these years!

  • i cant stand his new band! i miss soundgarden

  • Something about Chris' look here reminds me of that guy from the Home Improvement show..What's his name? Ty Pennington or something like that?

  • Cornell is a God

  • loved this song years ago with Vedder on lead & Chris on backup. Always wanted to hear CC sing it himself, and LOVE IT!!!! God, that voice, goes right thru you. So brilliant

  • Vedder was backup, Cornell was lead. Cornell was singing the song, and Eddie was waiting for Mookie Blaylock (Pearl Jam)'s turn to practice or record or something. He just jumped in and sang backup, and it was an instant hit.

  • Love´s Cornell and love his voice...

  • Dios EL mejor cantante de todos los tiempos....

  • he hits that high note pretty effortlessly. chester bennington of linkin park is a good singer but u see him strain when he tried to sing that note

  • do not ever compare linkin gay park to temple of the dog ever!

  • i was comparing the singers and the vocalists not the bands

  • yea TOTD was fuckin awesome and amazing and so is LP

LP is just a different style with different sound and a different band

so the 2 are non comparable anyway!

  • gosh damn cornell has a good voice

  • we don't need to hit the fucking notes you dope, i think he sounds better nowadays tho, his voice is more colourful

  • today he can hit some really high notes again.

  • beautiful!!

  • i don't know why you people are given this dude thumbs down. His comment isn't wrong lol. Cornell is selling out because his voice shit the bed from drinking and screaming since fucking 1984. Listen to temples hunger strike. Those are high notes from chris. This is throat notes, nothing to what he was. I love him though, and soundgarden because they kick the ass of any other fucking band.

  • All of you faggots bitching about his voice... hit those fucking notes... post a video. You can't do it so shut the fuck up.

  • @poopyscoopy5 i agree 1000000%. but those notes are really not that high. its his tone that is amazing not his range (in this case i mean)

  • @shockdoctor1992 chris cornell has a relatively large range

  • @poopyscoopy5 and he really fucked up those high b's

  • @poopyscoopy5 ssssshhhhh

  • @poopyscoopy5 Oh yea, Chris rocks. No doubt.... but you can't say others in rock do not. Would u really throw that one down with Ozzy? Likely not, his wife would toss u out of the room! HA

  • the bass player is the bass player from dredge it looks like.

  • he has better woise now, darker, butt lott of this youtube videos are wery bad saond!and the power and float disapere, saond on youtube sucs!dont blame the artist inn here be cause of that.try to faond swedish unnplugd from 2006,singing call me a dog?that video are stereo saond!he has more dark power in his screm now,old days he screem little bitt tu much,so he has tune it down, and that gives him more space to play whith his woise!

  • well said, youtube does not give his voice justice at all. I recently saw him live, and he has not lost it at all!

  • smile

  • te voy a mamar las bolas!!!! jajaja

  • Chris Cornell voice is not what it used to be in the old days.

  • typo Karkiry: YOU think that his voice is not wat it used to be.

  • no actually it has changed alot

  • changed YES, but the comment was: not what it used to be, like worse.

I dont agree. half year ago in Amsterdam, he sounded fine to me.

  • Change = not the same, different, which means not what it used to be. It has changed alot

  • ok in your opinion,it changed for the worse. I disagree. But hey ,each his own.

  • He's just an older man now. It's no mystery that the voice changes with age just as the body does.

  • agreed, but most of the ppl who talk about it say its worse, its not. And its mostly out of "being pissed"that Soundgarden is not together anymore.

  • His singing voice is still great, but that accusation about Soundgarden being the source is totally unfounded. The source is that he can't wail at high pitches like he used to. And I can understand why. Touring for years screaming every night and aging will do that to you. Not his fault, and I commend him for doing all he did for the band, for the fans, and the music industry.

  • Yeah that comment; cant wail at high pitches like he used to, got me thinkin' . thats prob. true. I went to a show last year, but I dont recall he played songs from that era. I mean the latest Soundgarden Cds, are different songs without that kind of singing.

But for me :(dont matter if you like the song or not!) just listen to that Bond song: you know my name. thats a killer voice right there.

  • can't you just shut the fuk up and tell me what the actual song is about...pretty please, with cream and sugar?.. ...someone is hungry..

  • Just think of robin hood

  • Its a reference to those in power living off of those working and living in poverty, I don't think it was intended to specifically address any one person/situation.

  • OK, we're all in trouble now. However I don't care anyway. For myseLF i been poor most of the time. The rich can go fuk them self.

  • Its a really awesome song and a really amazing singer!!!! but one thing...i think that the other voice in this video (the guitar player) don't have character and it's too flat....chris needs a best vocalist for this part///but chris....really AWESOME!!!

  • Awesome. This is a new recording, that is not Dave Grohl. This is his touring band for his most recent album. Best show I've seen, House of Blues Cleveland.

  • Impresionante !!!

    5/5

  • the best performance ever!

  • Nothing Like watching Grohl pound the skins back in the good days. Cheers!

  • umm that's not grohl is it?

  • Not grohl

  • I know lol. I was just F'ing w people. CHEERS!

  • Man this due is the real thing..so hot so talented and his song writing blows ne the f*** away..Im very grateful for this music...

  • he always sounds different live.

  • u can tell he is forces his voice stupid beer drugs nd stuff awesome song

  • when my cup's already overfilled...:-)

  • soo amazing

  • I actually don't think Chris pulls off Eddie's part. I mean, his own part he does awesome for, and Eddie couldn't do Chris's but the same accounts either way. Chris was way better in the early 90s than now in my view, though I still love him, but maybe with his hair went a little of his voice...

  • Your right, they are both so unique. lol and i have often thought the same thing, if he grew his hair out maybe that voice would come with it. dude if thats the case, i have curly hair, man im growin it down to my heels

  • I think it's very hard to keep up screaming in the songs you sing after so many years...I mean they were together in 1990. Um, I think that's almost 20 years. I think he did a good job for Eddie's part considering his unique style.

  • It IS all in the hair. Look what happened to Metallica when they cut their hair :(

  • q gritos de hijueputa! demasiado bueno

  • To reply to your question, unlikely. He is a very gifted singer very adept at transitioning from his chest voice to his head voice and still remaining powerful. I can hit the same notes but I don't have the raspy edge. He's an incredible Rock vocalist

  • You said it man

  • is he in falsetto the whole time?

  • No he goes a few times but mostly hes in the mix.

  • Does anyone know when this was taken?

  • PUTA ANG BIGAT !!!!!

  • se abaixassem um pouco o tom ia fica menos forçado, da pra ver que ele ta forçando demaais...As vezes da ateh uma desafinadinha ;/

  • perfect awesome 1000

    He's the best lead singer

  • thanks and 100000 thanks for posting this!! his voice is the best that GRUNGE could ever had.. one of a kind

  • eddy makes everything so much vedder =)

  • har har har

  • lol your right, but I'm pretty sure vedder couldn't do cornell's part in this, at least in cornell's prime

  • not energy or diction, impressive he can still hit those high notes now

  • que voz!!!que cuerpo!!!que todo!!!!!!!

  • Best vocalist alive today!

  • hes so gorgeous

  • Cornell Still The Great!!!
