Rachel quite simply dusts Idina in this song. Her power is incredible. I talked with her after the show about Idina's legacy and she said before she started on this show she was trying to go see Idina in New York and couldn't make it and was sad... and I really had to hold myself back from blurting "you're better than Idina" .... and I keep listening to Rachel here on YouTube and there's no question in my mind anymore that she is superior
I went to see the show, it was so wonderful! I loved it, and it's stayed with me ever since! I can still hear and see the performance picture-perfect when i think about it!
I Saw Wicked in October with my dad. and it was AMAZING ! I think I almost cried when Rachel sang this and then when I heard that she was from Ireland, I think I screamed :P Sad right ? haha
I saw Wicked and thought it was Brilliant i really want to see it again. Rachel is a brilliant singer and actress and she is so pretty with and without the green make up. I loved it
That just sent shivers down my spine .... the best musical to hit the west end / broadway ... Stephen Schwartz has done an amazing job, I haven't seen a bad performance of it yet and i've seen everycast there has been in London .. <3 wicked .!!!!
@BlazedHearts Rachel Tucker is actually Irish. So she is actually putting on a British accent. But we do kind of have more pronounced T's. But it depends on where you're from.
Like my friend explained (she's from New Zealand, but does an uncanny English accent), there is "royal english", "regular english" and then "dirty english".
So much emotion s AMAZING JUST BREATHTAKING the last notes are icredible the power is like WOW she is cleraly now on par with kerry i knew she would prve herself so well the emotion just spiils out in bucketloads like seriously woo she is so beleivable as always LONDON WICKED IS THE BEST
she has changed it when she casts the spell, she sings it now. 2 things, i dont like the first meee riff, and the way she breathes before never bring us..... down. but still...
She's really anounciating at the moment... as is the guy who said "in the name of oz open this door" he was a bit posh haha. Incredible vocally though, although missing some adlibs hehe omg the end is just PERFECT - absolutely splenderific
i love the growl on the beginning of the last note! - the applause is rightfully incredible!!!
have just seen it a week ago in london. i absolutely loved it and wish i could go again. BRILLIANT WORK :) <3

@kikodawgz you gotta love Idina, though. Rachel may be awesome, but so's Idina. Just slightly differently awesome.
Every Wicked fan has a special fondness for Idina.
Rachel AND Idina <3

I dont like how the english emphasise the "ty" in "gravity".
I mean, she's wonderful, but that has always irked me a little.
BlazedHearts 1 year ago
@BlazedHearts That's because it's a song from a musical not a pop song :)
BOWYERD999555 1 year ago
@BOWYERD999555 That doesnt really have anything to do with it being a pop song or not..
It's just the english accent and how they have more pronouneced "t's".

@BlazedHearts lol I like the dirty english! haha
lovelaugh408 1 year ago
@lovelaugh408 Yeah, I laughed hard when she listed the examples.
Royal, she said "may you pass me a spoon darling?"
Regular was just normal chat.
Dirty was something like "oi you, i want some bloody tea ya poof". xD

To those who ground me was awesome too! The first bring me down is filled with
so much anger and dispair over finding out what the wizard was really like...chilling

im glad i listened the whole way through and didnt just skip to the end...
the way she is saying "gravity" is making me melt. and i LOVE her "they'll never bring us down" <3
her 'its not her' speech has got a billion times better, but i am missing the growl on its me! such a glorious defying gravity <3
