@ladysaane Yes, I've been a Ska fan since the early 90's before I came to the Lord.. for me it was Sublime, No Doubt, Blink 182, and that style.. after when I was led by Holy Spirit into his presence I found this band FIF, Insyderz, the W's, and I found an outlet to worship my Jesus..
I've been looking for some JESUS FREAKS who love worshipping the Father through Ska
if you're ever in the bay area let a sistergirl know, I'm taking guitar lessons and had played the trumpet for 5 years but its been a while since I've picked it back up again, you can listen to my songs on my channel...I have so much more to work on with my craft though. I'm always songwriting all the time, I really just wanna groove/rock the world for Jesus Christ esp through ska/reggae/hiphop/punk/soul/acoustic...I'm pretty eclectic and all over the place, but yeah!
I lo0ve this band- and song!! great memories of cranking this albumm at a park in central cali- for my son's eight bday-he is 16 now- glad these guys made a band-enjoyed-stilldo! their music!!
As far as I'm concerned, THIS was their best album! The first one was great, "Strike Back" was O.K., "Chase The Sun" was AWESOME! A whole lot of variety on that one. The whole process of a band getting better and better with each record, maturing sound wise, production wise, etc. Then it just kinda went downhill from there.
I don't know about that, hip hop and ska got their origins from funk. Hip hop is just a broken 4/4 beat...so they would easily merge together. Not trying to down play the song, just saying wasn't hard to mesh the two.
actually ska got it's origins from calypso music and early 50s new orleans rhythms and blues. hip hop came from kids on the street speak rhyming to drum beats and bass lines, which is kind of the funk genre.
Love this album!! Brings back my childhood. The producer on this record "GGGarth" is THE best. We have the pleasure of working with him right now.

It's not the best of their songs, but I like the clip. It's a funny notion with the old western style.

this album was so underrated. this song is probably one of their best. they effectively combined old school hip hop with ska in this.
