The guy at 1:26 looks like he's driving the point home with just a few words after the others had been beating about the bush for quite a while. Absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately my german seems a bit rusty and I don't understand the lyrics.
You will never find such skilled vocalists again.... what a tragedy... what would have become of the Harmonists i the nazi regime nefver existed? We will never know...
Sorry for my German. I am in a three hundred level class at the University of Kansas, and I just need someone to tell me: which parts of the movie were really historically inaccurate. I originally thought the Nazis smashing the Grunbaums' shop was made up, but my teacher disagreed.
I don't know whether the story of the shop was true or false, but I fits in the historical time (the nazi behaviour)
Write me a mail if you need help ;-) My English is not that good but german is my mother tongue :-). We could also Skype about, I'm also at the university and I am also very interested and know much facts about the history (I am no Nazi).
Arranged by Harry Frommermann, the Comedian Harmonists sang from 1928 to March 1935 but due to interference by the Nazis, the three Jewish members had to leave and went to Vienna forming the Comedy Harmonists. The other 3 went to Berlin forming the Meister Sextet. Both groups were joined by 3 new members and sang from August 1935. The Comedy Harmonists sang in Australia in 1937 & 1939 and moved to USA in 1941. Volume 5 of the CD Comedian Harmonists Story compares songs by the 3 groups.
The soundtrack from the movie IS made from original Comedian Harmonists recordings. This IS the original group. These are actors (good ones) lip syncing.
the title of the song is "creole love call", originally composed by duke ellington... you should put this in the name of your video, so everyone can find it....

This is from The German Movie Comedian Harmonists its not the Original Band but Very Good.
The group was banned by the Nazis because a part was Jewish, and has separated
