Nathan all the way...Phil and Mel would be good with me if he didn't treat her like trash when she first got to town. When he was with Stephanie and Mel showed interest he basically treated her like he wouldn't be with her if she was the last girl on earth and now all of a sudden she's someone he can't live without. I could never get past that and accept them together totally. Personally I think Phil belongs with Chloe and Mel DEF belongs with Nathan...but that's jmo.
@sweetpea141679 I loved Phloe but to clarify...Philip didn't like Chloe until he lost a bet took her to the dance and she revealed herself in a tight red dress. Before that point he teased her. So if we are going to use how he treated a girl when he first met her, then Philip shouldn't be with Chloe for the same reasons. Philip only treated Mel harsh when she started playing games at Titan. He actually told her he liked her in their 4th scene on 10/31/2008. They both got off on the push & pull.
They are soul mates. He makes her want to be a better person and she understands him better than anyone else. They make each other laugh and they are so comfortable and relax around each other. Its true love.
@lovemistress Phillip treated Melanie bad in the beginning because he didn't want to be attracted to her.......Nathan showed interest in Stephanie first, and blew Melanie off so he's the one I could never accept.......he was only interested in Melanie after Stephanie went back (yet again with Phillip).....
I think Phillip and Melanie are perfect for each other neither has to change who they are to be accepted by the other.
Thanks! The fights are my favorite parts of the Philip and Nate scenes. I tried to make the video fair and show both "princes". I do have a favorite though. LOL
Did you watch that episode yet? Ok for me as a long time Philip fan, it was a major moment. They were outside the courtroom, Mel in tears hugging Philip. Philips says she should not have had to go through any of this. She tries to laugh it off but he gets serious. He says he should have taken that bullet for her. And then he holds her gaze and his voice cracks with emotion and he tells her he would do ANYTHING for her.
Now yes that is romantic, but for those words to come out of Philip's mouth means more. The man has been so hurt in love and in life, he is pretty much cold and emotionally shut down. Then he realizes that he has found his other half in Melanie, a kindred spirit, possibly his soul mate. He loves her more openly and honestly than he has any other. He is not afraid to bare his soul, he is not holding back with her.
So in that moment Philip is open and vulnerable and he basically shows the depth of his love for her. He would die for her. It was just an amazing moment for that character. He truly feels like he has found "the one".
That was the moment that really stuck with me too. It wasn't just what he said because Philip spews a lot of cliches. (I love him to pieces, but he does). It was the look on his face and how serious he was when he said it. I also think it's not just that he would die for her. He'd kill for her too.
It is from the 12/29/09 episode where Mel tells Philip that Vivian and Kate want them to have a wedding cruise to Stefano's island with entertainment provided by Beyonce. And he comes up with the idea that they elope instead.
